Moved to northern Indiana earlier this year. no one in this state knows if CBS still shows the typical SEC game every saturday. any of you SEC fans live out of the region know the answer?

i was surprised to see the number of UK fans (i think they're mostly basketball fans). i've seen a couple of auburn and one bama fan as well.

Pretty sure it's always been a national telecast.

Yes...and it chaps the arse of those people in those states who aren't SEC fans....they bitch and whine and moan while THEY WATCH THE ENTIRE GAME FROM START TO FINISH LOL...I have only lived in SEC country 14 months out of the last 13 years and people hate the SEC outside of the SEC but they watch every game on TV so they will know what to hate the most LOL...

Labor laws in Indiana are similar to those in South Carolina and Mississippi....most of the SE isn't as draconian in their favoritism to the employer over the employee as Indiana is....

Yeah it is national. Much like the ABC and ESPN Saturday night games. It isn't regional like the NFL broadcasts are.

It was the main selling point for the CBS-SEC TV deal.

Slive thought the national exposure was worth the relatively low price tag.One reason I was hoping CBS was still in the running for the next TV contract.

It has always been a national telecast. In some markets the local CBS station might opt out and show something else. I doubt that is widespread.

I was born and raised in the South and have traveled 46 of 50 states, have visited the Midwest extensively. Those people have an inflated view of themselves. A lot of them have never visited the South and definitely not lived there. Their view of the South was formed from watching "The Beverly Hillbillies." I have found Southern and Midwestern people to be very similar.

They "hate" the SEC because it is the top football conference in the country, and they know that. The football fans know a tremendous amount about the SEC to 'hate" it so much.

Until the contract runs out in 3ish years, yes.

Yep,ends after '23 and CBS is pretty much out of the running. Wish it wasn't the case but it's pretty much their own fault.
They repeatedly refused to renegotiate the
contract even after expansion.

As far as I know ESPN is the primary bidder...which kind of sucks IMO.

Also, when they say National, it includes Hawaii. My parents went on a Thanksgiving Cruise a while back, and Dad watched the Iron Bowl in a bar on one of the islands. It was either a 5 or 6 hour time difference, so it was starting mid-morning out there.

It hasn't always been a national broadcast. For a few years in the late '90s and early '00s CBS would often show a Big East game at the same time. Sometime around 2001 CBS dumped the Big East, and the telecasts became national again.

When I lived in CA the LA CBS station still showed all the SEC games. But here, I remember growing up a Jefferson Pilot game on my CBS affiliate instead whatever game CBS had in the 11:00 slot.

There is no "kind of". It absolutely sucks. I really enjoy Nessler on the play by play. I enjoy CBS's SEC telecasts more than their NFL coverage.

It does but they got no one to blame but themselves.

It's definitely NFL or better quality. They put a ton of resources into every game and it showed. Not gonna happen with ESPN or whoever gets the deal.
