It's happened four times over the last nine years. Those games are the 2008 SEC Championship Game, 2010 South Carolina, 2014 CFP SF and 2016 CFP National Championship Game. In every other loss, Bama either coaching or playing well below their standards was the primary factor in their loss.

We all know Bench is an idiot but he's absolutely right with this analysis.

ETA: I would throw in 2010 LSU. Miles running the TE reverse was a slick move and decided that game. Also 2011 GOTC...I think we can all agree Bama ultimately proved themselves just a shade better than LSU but in the first game, their defense stiffened when it mattered most and made us attempt long field goals. Poor special teams play lost us that game, much like great special teams play won us the 2015 NC game. Eric Reid taking the ball away from Michael Williams was also pivotal.

I forget . . . been awhile since any school - especially SEC schools - have beat them.

I've said it on here. Technically, however, people read it; they didn't hear it.

There is no fanbase who can have a representative look more dumb than an LSU person accusing others of making excuses for losses. Holy shite it doesn't get any more ironic than this.

I never had any problem admitting Clemson was a better team that night last January and beat us straight up. There were other factors but they played great when it counted and deserved the win. I honestly have never really heard any different from any Alabama fans and I live in Tuscaloosa. Sorry you guys didn't quite get the melt your were looking for.

I mean there are always reasons for a loss - for any team, not just Alabama. Its just a really easy troll tactic when someone tries to discuss what happened in a game that resulted in victory. Alabama rarely gets blown out and with any close game, especially in CFB, there are a couple injuries / penalties / freak bounces / missed assignments / mental breakdowns / etc. that sway the game.

For example, Alabama got bit by the injury bug last year. And it is a reasonable comment when discussing the national championship game which was essentially lost on the final play. Clemson was bit by the injury bug in 2015 and it is a reasonable comment to bring up in discussing how the 2015 national championship game was won / lost. Neither of these are excuses or the sole reason that determined the outcome of the game - but certainly played a role in what happened on the field.

ETA: also i'm not saying that Bama should have beat Clemson or beat themselves or any other form of that which will try to be used. Clemson was amazing last year in the CFP and edged Bama out in a great game. Just that there are factors in a game which some people take as "making excuses" when you are really just discussing how the game played out and various important factors in the game.

Yep.

Urbody else carry on tho.

There are some graceful Bama fans . You just have to walk through thousands of sidewalk fans to find them.

No, no I'm not wrong. An LSU fan accusing any other team of making excuses for losses is the height of irony.
