I would also add I think Delpit has to have a monster game for us to keep things close. He is going to be the difference maker not only in helping out the CB’s playing center field, but also disguising and performing blitzing. If he has just an average game, we’re screwed.

LSU's secondary I think will be the first one Bama has played that can match up...that being said, if the pass rush doesn't come through and Tua can go through progressions, it'll be a long day.

I do think it will be a little more difficult for the passing game this game. But, I also remember great Bama defenses going up against passing attacks with good QB's and WR's. It's impossible to cover them for long. If LSU can't get a pass rush without blitzing, Tua is going to put up big numbers again. Good DB's can only do so much

This. LSU has a great secondary and operates off of being able to run man coverage and bring different looks with safeties blitzing and dropping LBs and what not. If we can't get pressure blitzing 4-6 people we will have trouble in prolonged coverage.

Not to touch on a sore subject, but how are your LBs in pass coverage?

Bama has been throwing to RBs and TEs all season, do you feel your group can hold up consistently if tested in space?

This is why we need to pressure Tua. If we don't get pressure on him, we won't win. He has unbelievable accuracy.

LSU DBs will have to press and jam the Bama WRs to get timing off
Imo, this is the best part of LSU secondaries game. They also push the limit with their hand checks and jersey grabbing to see what the refs are calling (no offense intended...hell, that's how a DB should play his position!). If they can get the receiver's mind off his route and on to what the DB's going to physically try to do, half their battle is won!

WRs are open on most plays at some point.

It'll come down to if you guys can continue to protect Tua or not. If you do, that negates our coverage abilities.

I think that Bama will have a different game plan and will run the ball so much more.

GA went away from the run pretty quickly but I do not think that Bama will. I expect to see delay draw plays a lot.

IF LSU can pressure Tua without blitzing, Bama is in trouble. I don't think this year's Bama team can line up and run the ball on 3rd and short against LSU

In general, LB’s are solid in coverage. We’ve had a few picks and nearly pick 6’s. Our LB’s have speed and cover well in general.

Our LB's have been doing pretty good. Both Phillips and Divinity almost have pick sixes.

They are good at showing blitz and sitting back in coverage. Both have pretty good wheels.

We can slow it down but not stop it, but that may just mean Bama scores 31 instead of their usual 51. Can LSU score 31 points? Very unlikely. Going to need to play really well & catch a break somewhere to make it 24 or 28 instead of 31. Even then it will be a tall task for LSU to win a 27-24 game or something like that.

No reasonable LSU fan should expect us to win this game, it’s a 1 in 10 kind of proposition.

If I were Bama, I would target our D line and run until they stopped us. Pass defense is our strength. Winning the battle at the line of scrimmage, not so much.

To a certain degree, they'll take what the defense gives them. If the defense is playing pass, they'll run more. But, the strength of this Bama team is the passing attack. They'll use it one way or another.

This will be the Game with in the Game.

Can LSU DBs man up, press and be physical with Bama Wrs to throw timing off and get them off their spot and how will bama WRs react to a DB being physical. Flip side, if Bama Wrs get free, the LSU db is toast bc he missed the jam and cant re-route the WR. LSU has given up some deep plays, maybe 1-2 a game and got away with it bc qb missed it or over threw, TUA wont make that mistake.

I expect the same defensive effort we saw against Georgia. The difference is Tua won't miss those two or three moments where receivers break open. The dbs will play great but it will take 21+ points on the board to win

Yes they can. Florida was able to run on us. Georgia ran on us, but they were insistent on passing too much. I wouldn't be surprised if Saban relies on the running game more than normal.

Pretty good actually. Phillips had a long pick 6 run against Miami. Against State divinity had one damn near returned 31 yards for a pick 6 too.

IF LSU shuts down that pass attack, how good is this year’s run game for bama? I know y’all got like 3 backs y’all use but are they like Derrick Henry where they can pound it?
