re: People who say "do what now"

Only here to say that’s definitely a run on sentence, lol
My theory, weeds are spreading like crazy because so many have lawn people doing their yards. Thus, every weed from every yard gets spread by the one lawn mower cutting them all.
When I was a kid, we had the basics, clovers, dandelion, etc. But everyone cut their own yards. You didn’t see all these lawn services.
And I might be completely wrong. Just a Festus theory.

Morning all. Up at 3 am, no explanation. And couldn’t fall back to sleep. Took a shower. Waffle House may be in my near future. Alone with a cup of coffee..

That place is still delicious and they now deliver on DoorDash. Kung Pao chicken and Bourban chicken in one dish,.
And enough for 3 meals.

Sorry if this has already been explained, but didn’t want to read every post. I have 38 years experience in WC. It’s not uncommon at all for employers to continue to pay an injured employee’s salary. And if they do, they’re helping the employee as they only get 2/3 under WC.
The reason they do it is not necessarily noble. Usually it’s to keep cost of claim down, so their EMOD stays lower, keeping their insurance rates lower.
WC is a statutory insurance. The injured employee’s rights are guaranteed. The claim is two parts, lost wages (indemnity) and medical. Many employers want to keep it a medical only claim for their rates. But once they realize it’s not a simple injury, they may ask the insurance company to convert it to lost time and start paying the weekly benefits. It’s very common.
There’s nothing nefarious about it. Doing it this way will in no way affect the injured employee’s benefits. They will still have their right to choose a doctor in each field of specialty. It’s merely a cost saving strategy for the company that actually favors the employee as well, in that they receive 100% of their salary, not 66 2/3 of it.
Sorry for the long winded answer.
ETA: it is illegal for a company to force an injured employee to use PTO in lieu of WC. The worker can use it to make up the 1/3 if they choose to. But a worker cannot legally be forced to take PTO and not get paid indemnity, or salary in lieu of indemnity.

Better question…
I liked it at first. In year 38 now. I hate it. But probably because I will retire in 8 months. And it’s all I think about. I’m so sick of corporate structure and dealing with what I deal with.
But I’m extremely thankful for it. I made a good living, was always available to my kids growing up, and will retire at 63. I can’t wait to not work.

I’m scared Boat. Especially the part about the teats and shear.
I have to admit, I absolutely love twerking. I’m obsessed with doing it. I would hope that if I were graduating from high school tomorrow, I could resist and control my urges. But if I’m being honest, I would probably twerk my arse off to feel free and make a statement to the world.
$258.71 for me.
Thanks Bill. I just downsized into a garden home. Very small backyard with a huge oak tree and roots. My main panel is on the side of my garage. There is a small concrete pad on that side, maybe 4-5 feet wide, but long. I assume that’s where I could put the generator. And I’m assuming I would have to get a large tank that would go next to it. Very easy to service there from the street, as I’m the last house, with a cross street behind it.
I really don’t wanna mess with gas or diesel if possible. I assume it would suck that down in no time. Right now I use a portable with the hook up direct to my panel. It works, but basically only get a window unit in one room. And have to find and store shite tons of 5 gallon gas containers.

Question for anyone. I live in a small house, small city, with no natural gas run to my house. What are my options on getting one installed? Would I have to have a natural gas/propane tank installed?

WC covers lost wages, and medical bills. Many companies continue to pay salary or wages, in an effort to keep their costs down on future premiums. The carrier pays just the med bills. The claim is handled as a MED only, to keep their EMOD smaller.
This is better for your wife. Her take home should be a bit higher than the 66 2/3 of gross wages.
For those stating they are making her take PTO until it runs out, that’s illegal. She needs to make sure it’s her normal paycheck, not PTO. WC precludes an employee from losing their PTO in lieu of pay. The state prohibits it.
Later, if it drags on, they can convert it to lost time and WC will then pick up weekly payments and company will stop paying salary.
ETA: 95% of every response in this claim is completely false. The one just above mine made me audibly lol.

It’s hard for me to understand why we haven’t come up with effective anti drone technology. It would seem with the advances made in technology over the last decade, we don’t already have something that would knock every drone out of the air. I admittedly know little about drone technology. But damn, seems like we could figure out a defense against them.
I’ll take what you’re giving.
