Not sure why he would want to wait on the bench and only play one year. The kid looks like an incredible QB.

Hopefully both he and Jones do and Montana Murphy is a serviceable backup.

I'm sure that's the plan.

Impossible to know at this point. I think that would be ideal, because that would mean Hurts shows improvement and he stays healthy all season.

No. The only scholarship QBs on the entire roster will be a sophomore (Hurts) and two true freshmen.

I'm sure they will he seems like a kid thats want to, take a year to learn instead of trying to start his first year.

It's possible Jones, the other incoming freshman, could be the mop-up QB and TUA could redshirt, provided Hurts stays healthy. Redshirt could be pulled if necessary.

I don't think he will be ready to jump from Hawaii high school ball to SEC ball without a redshirt year. This ain't 7 on 7.

I wouldn't discount Hawaii high school football. Ever hear of Marcus Mariota?

Could go after a late JuCo QB or grad transfer. Otherwise I expect Tua to be the backup.

Doubt it. He'll either be No. 1 or 2. In fact, he may be on the field with Hurts at the same time because he is a lefty. One of those situations where you don't know who gets the ball. Actually, a chance to renovate the game at QB with him and Hurts.

My point was that Hawaii high school football isn't 7 on 7.

Not Hawaii, but watched some YouTube stuff on football players from American Samoa recently. Only 4 high schools, no teams before high school, and nonexistent weight rooms or facilities yet 30 active NFL players and over 200 active college players from a place with a population of 55,000.
