Bama vs USCe: 489 yards for / 419 allowed, 49-18
MSU vs USCe: 393 yards for, 431 allowed, 41-34
You were outgained by 40 yards when Bama outgained them by 70 despite shutting it down in the 3Q.
You won by 7, Bama throttled them by 31 and the game was over before halftime.
With 8 minutes to go in the 2nd quarter of the MSU-SC game USC led 16-0. With 8 minutes to go in the 4th quarter the score was 41-23. MSU outscored them 41-7 and had 380 yds of offense in 30 minutes of clock time.

I see both teams scoring over 40 points…two elite qb talents, give me State in a thriller though.

Gonna be a great game either way. Pulling for State!!!

Are you at all concerned that your offense is predicated so heavily on explosive plays?
I saw a stat that yall had 20 so far through four games, but the flip side of that is sometimes the offense has failed to sustain drives when the big plays haven’t been there.
The scenario you just outlined means you had 13 yards total offense in a quarter and a half against a defense that isn’t elite by any means.
The flip side of that is that Bama has been horrible about allowing huge plays and extremely stingy particularly in the RZ because the zone becomes much harder to deal with in a short field.
I expect Bama to sit back in a zone and force Taylor to hit short stuff to show that you can grind out drives. Part of that is I think they see a scenario where the Bama pass rush becomes a problem for your OL to cause enough negative plays to kill a couple drives.
If the pass rush can’t impact Taylor I expect him to put up 350+.

Everything about your post and every other Bammer's post is why everyone else is pulling for State
oh yeah that's the reason huh? Alabama is a top 3 most hated team in the entire country but i'm sure its the posts ITT that will have everyone ringing their cow bells tomorrow

Correct. They barely beat us by one score at home.
Also played their worst game of the year so far.

It become a concern when it becomes a concern.
Lebby goes for the chunk plays because he's getting them, but his offense has short and mid game built into it.
Your point stands though. Can Lebby pivot to the short and mid game if the long shots are mostly unavailable? I sure hope so.
What gives me reason to believe they can is Bothwell. He's had 100+ yards in each of the last three games (they didn't need him for the ULM game). Bama sitting only works as long as they can also keep Bothwell bottled up.

Kamario Taylor is gonna be a huge test for our defense. Likewise, I think Keelon Russell has been overlooked. Dude is really, really good, but still kinda coming into his own.
I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous about this game. These are the games you find out what your team is made of.

Cowbell wins this game book it.
It's right about that time when bitch tits Deboar lays a road egg against a shitty team. Not only that but you can't take a freshman QB on the road in the SEC and expect to win regularly.

Your “data” is bullshite because it doesn’t factor in context. State was playing prevent the entire 4th quarter because they were ahead by 17 on the road. Allowing USCe to go on a couple of long drives that were clock eaters skews your data because State was dictating what their offense was doing

I'd take that bet. But, I would need to know who the officiating crew is. That's a 14 point swing.

I would be more concerned if Fluff wasn’t having the year he’s having.
I also feel like at some point they’re going to have a game where they really turn Kamario loose in the running game. Been pretty tame so far.
The offense being hot and cold has kinda been the deal Lebby’s entire tenure. Been better this year because the hot spells are hotter and the cold spells haven’t been quite as cold.

Go check what the score was midway through the 2Q in the Bama-USC game.
Bama was basically clock killing the entire 3Q until Carolina had two successful drives and then Bama scored twice to remind them they were dead.
You’re just disregarding data points because you don’t like the conclusion.
Bama has nearly every advanced metric in their favor and was clearly more dominant against their common opponent.
It’ll all be settled on the field tomorrow.

Real talk, I think the only reason MSU struggled against Mizzou is cause they were looking ahead to Bama.

I dont actually see an avenue for state winning tbis unless taylor has a crazy game(which he might be capable of) and Bama just shitting the bed like we did.
