Actually talking to my daughter about this who was on Horn Island that day and many other days. Kids and adults do generally leave on the same boat unless there was a reason. So the young probably liberal writers at Spin Magazine wanted to be inclusive so they added in some rap. Actually some of the rap ain’t that bad. They left a lot of artists out but they had to narrow it to 40 cuz of the whole 40 in 40. Anyway I think they did a pretty good job for the 80’s and 90’s
