Are transfers not part of a recruiting class?

Alabama doing things the right way pays off.

That, or...

Alabama $$$ >>>>> A&M $$$

Either way, it's a blow to the ego.

You have to click the drop down menu where it says "recruit" and select "overall".

I would think if 247 was really trying to analyze the impact of transfers, they would net it against all the kids leaving the program. That would be pretty interesting.

Wait

They are changing rankings with transfers in

Too funny

Are they also including the transfers out

My guess, no

How is this possible? I thought A&M had already spiked the football and printed cups for their national recruiting championship...

I have never thought of it that way. Maybe but the actual "recruiting rankings" each year tend to be just the kids inking scholarships.

I suppose with the portal trending the way it is, transfers should be counted as well as transfers out to gauge some actual increase in talent.

As you can tell, I work a lot in data analytics and this stuff probably means more to me than most others.

All it took was Rivals cooking the books deliberately so that Georgia and A&M dropped while Alabama went up.

You almost have to admire their unabashed homerism at this point.

How would that impact an incoming class at all?

Maybe just maybe some of their signed '22 recruits can count back to the '21 class.

Shhhhhh, just wait till they come to the conclusion after beating their chest all off-season that they’re STILL shitty arse A&M who has not and will not win anything of significance. They couldn’t even buy a number 1 recruiting class. Even better, they’re big brother is coming take the only advantage they held on to so tightly, the only Texas team in the SEC.

Aggies, always fun to laugh at

Awesome. Aggie loses their bragging rights and Bama's loss to Aggie in 2021 gets cancelled out. Print the t-shirts, Gump. But don't make a painting or distribute the cups, Aggie.

They've never combined people leaving with people incoming. Their job is to rate your incoming recruiting class. People transferring out, going to the NFL, being kicked off the team, etc...is all the same result of players leaving, but it's silly to try and pseudo combine that into a "recruiting class" rating.

Ahh . . . .I found the background.

Transfers don’t currently factor into a team’s recruiting ranking, but that may soon be changing.

Must be a very recent change.

I'm just giving you the obvious explanation here.

If you want a net team talent, they have a "college team talent" rating they show which is all the talent/ratings on a team in a given year here.

It's not really all that new.

This isn't the first year 247 has started rating transfers. But it is the first year they have a new "overall" team calc with it included in with recruits. Which it's obvious they need to start considering the volume of them now.

It wasnt really impactful on a class to have 1-2-3 transfers so much. Now we're seeing teams with 5-10-15 coming in.

Is it just me, or is National Signing Day a week from today?

Perhaps we should wait until then to crown the #1 class.

- OR -

I guess the aggies can continue to ejaculate prematurely, it seems they're still #1 in that category.
