With 247Sports and industry rankings updates in the books, at least for now, the Crimson Tide holds the No. 1-ranked overall class in the country, per 247Sports, with a score of 326.57. The overall is a combination of both Alabama’s prep recruits and Transfer Portal additions of Eli Ricks, Jermaine Burton, and Jahmyr Gibbs. Looking at the recruit level rankings, which just tallies high school additions, Alabama remains at No. 2 in the nation, just behind Texas A&M.

This coming off the Crimson Tide’s record-breaking 2021 signing class that finished at 327.76, and didn’t include Transfer Portal additions like Henry To’o To’o and Jameson Williams. The overall score in 2021, had the algorithm been present at the time, would have exceeded 330 points.

Of the Tide’s 2022 signing class, Alabama finished with four 247Sports Composite five-stars.

All it took was Rivals cooking the books deliberately so that Georgia and A&M dropped while Alabama went up.

Texas A&M:

F-Aggie melt is on!

This class is the only significant thing to happen there since 1939.

$30 million and still cant buy a moral championship.

Probably just should have transitioned their yell leaders to women and it would have made them happier and wouldnt have costs $30 million. They were already half way there anyway.

I’d say the overall rankings is still better because how big the transfers are now. You now have to “recruit” those guys pretty heavily and they can contribute right away just like a JUCO recruit

LSU fans were constantly told that the Bama Bump wasn't real.

At this point it should be clear Saban’s recruit evaluations are pretty good

You know, if we've learned anything from the last 13 years it is that Alabama's recruiting rankings have not correlated to wins or NFL draft picks.

Excellent point.

Have they always included transfers as part of the "recruiting class"?

The actual recruiting rankings still have A&M with the best class even after Perkins went and shook the money trees in Austin, Gainesville, and Baton Rogue.

Why would we melt? We took ONE incoming transfer. Alabama took 3.

You have to click the drop down menu where it says "recruit" and select "overall".

Interestingly enough, if the rule of 32 is truly in effect, t.u. can't sign Devon Campbell because they're already at 32 players including both signees and transfers.
