When nearly half the conference has hired a former Saban coordinator as their head coach, it’s a major box those ADs were trying to check when they hired said head coach. It it what it is at this point. And frankly, tiring.

I actually don't hate it. HC experience. Won decent enough at Washington to be hired away by USC. Seems to be sober and probably learned a lot since his USC years.

I think it would be a ironic twist that State and OM had 1st year head coaches that were both fired as HC’s by USC. One because he was drunk at booster events and the other wasn’t allowed to fly home with his team.
