Alabama lost the game but I think Deboer finally won the fanbase

I’ve been a Deboer fan for a while, but there was a group holding out because they felt he wasn’t the right fit personality-wise. I think the Georgia game changed that.

Seeing Ha-Ha pull 5 back around to take his chewing feels like something that would’ve happened during the prime Saban years.

DeBoner has a good squad this year. Definitely the toughest game LSU will have all year imo (not expecting an LSU win).

DeBoer coached a good game, imo.

I've seen a lot of fans happy that Deboer lost his composure.

I found it ironic that a few plays later, he is chewing out a player for losing his composure.

That said, Deboer says and does all of the right things after the game. He is a great coach. The fanbase? It will be interesting to see the ebbs and flows because Deboer isn't nick saban.

Congratulations.

Here's your "We lost the game, but won the fanbase" Championship Trophy
After what Indiana did to you a close loss probably feels like a W.

I agree. The first two years of his tenure he seemed uncomfortable. I think part of that was the sheer enormity of the job, but I also think that a big part of it was the fact that he was having to field a team that wasn't really "his." He had a look on his face during games that seemed to say, "We've just got to get through this."

The team he is rolling out this year seems to truly be his team, and he seems much more engaged as a result. I like it.

There’s still a small contingent who were never in favor of the hire and like most people will never admit they’re wrong. I couldn’t be happier with what he’s done. Bama lost but they played as physical as Georgia did and to be honest it was not that way the last 4-5 yrs sta Alabama even at the end of Sabans career.

Sabans last team was as physical as any that he coached. I think thats why he retired. It took his last push to get them to play like he wanted

As a neutral this has impressed me significantly. It was a rough finish last year - it could've looked really bad by now. Instead, coach got to work. And now he's got a tough, skilled, explosive team that's still developing and looks to be a tough out in the playoffs.

The screen where they showed the OL - it seems like half the guys have <10 starts and they're still playing great. A running QB helps that but there is some seriously impressive coaching happening at Bama right now

I remember about a year ago when he’d won the fanbase after a win in Athens and Ty Simpson was the front runner for the Heisman trophy.

it's so on brand for this fanbase that seeing coach get unhinged and yell and cuss at people is what's finally won them over.

Well one person basically ended the game when he was emotional and the other did not.

That seems to be the case. They’re ignoring that a third string undersized RB gashed them and they only put up 17 points at home.

if we're being technical, phillips entered the season as our 4th string RB lol. The Kentucky transfer dowdell got hurt preseason and was lost for the year.

We gashed bama on the ground with our 4th and 5th string RBs. Yowzas

Which is ironic because the coach steers the team. It is his culture.

You may have missed the irony.

Yeah either way you cut it that’s not reassuring.

They put up more yardage and points on UGA the last two regular season games than this year.

Ironically, the coach yelling when the game was over was what won them over.
