I don't think we'll be drastically different in terms of results. Pretty similar, probably. A bit more steady and less explosive. Less bad losses, but also less 28 pt wins over SEC Champs.

Who knows, though.

What's the roster going to look like? Obviously Sexton is going to the league.

Everybody else back plus Texas transfer Tevin Mack (15 PPG, 39% 3PT shooter as a soph).

We'll go as far as the young guys (Petty, Herb, Galin, Reese) progress and Mack adds.

Auburn would have been the better team with Wiley and Danjel, but it is what it is. All I know for sure is things are going to be drastically different for both teams next season.

Wouldn't bank on it. Hall will return for them. Petty isn't going anywhere and, if he matures, he'll be a damned good player. Do they lose anyone, other than Sexton, that is important to their team?

If your program wasn't so shady, you wouldn't have to rely on NCAA appeals to get players eligible.

Purifoy was only a 4*. That's really nothing to hang your hat on.

Purifoy was playing great before he sprained his ankle last year. Who the frick goes by star ratings when guys have played already?

By the way, the only senior was a walk-on given a scholarship. He didn’t even play this year.

UK fans, since good players never stay more than a few months there.

He’s played a year but he’s only a four star.

Well....

We have more players in the League than any other team.

I really do think that Alabama is the more talented team though. The Hair Team alone is better than any group that Auburn could put together. They just drew a bad matchup.

I'll give you the edge on coaching. At least you don't have Steven Pearl, because AJJ is >> Steven Pearl.

If Auburn gets Purifoy back (I don't think Wiley is coming back, but who knows I guess) then they are certainly easier to predict than we are.

We have some very good raw talent (Herb, Petty, Galin, Reese) but they have to develop more offensively or we'll struggle to score without Sexton. If Petty gets more consistent and adds a dribble drive, Mack plays like he did at Texas and Herb develops a drive game we'll be pretty solid. But there is also a chance none of those things happen and we really struggle on offense.

We will be pretty damn good defensively, though. That's for certain.

Realistically Auburn should add Doughty and prob lose Purifoy and Wiley, so we’re probably just basically returning the same team plus Doughty and a big man. Either Akingbola getting reclassified or grad transfer route.

I’ve read that Doughty was kinda like Dunans, which is something this team was missing. Need someone to be able to get to the rim.

I agree.

Agreed. A ton of raw talent. Top tier in the SEC. Petty absolutely has to become more consistent and other key contributors have to step up and develop... Herb in particularly. You have such a young team though. I think we're the only team in the SEC with less experience.

If that happens, you're a real threat, even without Sexton.

You showed sparks of greatness on defense this season. It just wasn't sustained.

The improvement from November to February defensively was pretty incredible given the makeup of our roster.

It's one of the things that, IMHO, is Cal's greatest skill - getting a bunch of random freshmen to play very good team defense. It's incredibly difficult.

Pretty bad considering they only lost to the National Champions by 7 in football. 34 - 27 wasn’t it?
