And we're watering down the defensive playbook like a drink at a tourist bar just to try and get the guys that have been thrown into the fire up to speed.

It pains me to say this but I fear Tua and the Four Horsemen aren't going to be enough to overcome the implosion on defense. We aren't going 6-6 but the SEC West is definitely up for grabs, much less anything beyond that. I hate that because Tua is looking like a well oiled machine and I'd love to punch Sunshine and that cocky bunch of Taters in the mouth, but I don't know if we can even make the playoffs.

the implosion on defense

There isn't a great defense in our league this year- from what I've seen there may not even be one above average. That's going to be the nature of the beast in today's college football. 2011 might as well be 1978, the game has probably evolved more in the last 10 years than it did in the previous 50

No doubt, you keep fighting and next man up, but nobody keeps taking hits like that on your front 7 and it not leave a mark. And with the offenses we still have to face, they are going to get exploited. There's going to be a lot of "Over" games on the back end of our schedule because nobody is stopping Tua if we can keep him clean and we're not stopping anyone either.

Damn, I wonder if Anoma is regretting his decision to leave?

Hoping for a quick recovery for Ray.

One of my favorite Saban quotes of all times...

“I’ve been concerned about this all along, so I don’t even know why you would ask the question. You just think, whatever happens, we just shite another player, all right, and everything is gonna be perfect. All our fans think that. You [the media] think that. That’s what you write about.

Honestly that’s the best scenario for us (LSU)

Ground and pound game doesn’t favor our personnel.

Nah.

The new paradigm is to dominate on offense.

The injuries suck, but the offense will be your bread and butter this year.

My goodness the injury bug has hit Bama hard. I know they have great players to move up and step in but it just seems like every week they lose a player.
Sorry to hear this for the team and especially for that young man, hopefully it’s not as bad and he can return this year.

Bama probably has some one with more talent just not the same experience that will fill in easily.

There will be five true freshmen starting on defense this Saturday.

This is INSANE! Hope the big guy heals up quickly and it's not as bad as they think. Was it something where he was trying to play through it and have surgery in the offseason and now may have to move up the surgery to now?

I was wondering about him. I remember seeing him limp off the field and was hoping it wasn't going to be something season ending.
