crowd-less stadiums

This goes both ways. 2019 LSU had 2 close games at home. If crowd noise is such a huge factor, then this 2019 vs. 2020 difference partially benefitted LSU. We would have loved to have a full BDS when Georgia was in town

and even your NCG game opponent who played half a season

Sounds like a massive advantage to our NCG opponent who was almost certainly one of the best 3 teams in the country. At one point last night, Bama was down their All-American Center, 2 First Round Receivers, a starting D-Lineman, and a Freshman All-American Corner. Yet Bama still dominated the rest of the game. As in any National Championship, both teams were missing significant players.

Y’all say this shite like we wouldn’t have demolished a low tier SEC team like Kentucky or Missouri last year. Throw anyone in there LSU would have skull fricked them all.

Alabama fans feel equally strongly that the 2020 Alabama team would have beaten any team on 2019 LSU’s schedule. So what is your point?

If you want an honest answer, pretty much every talking head is marveling that Alabam kept their focus in this shitstorm. It is pretty tough to go undefeated in a regular year, but playing an all P5 schedule with last minute schedule changes, issues with players and coaches being out, dealing with the stress of a season with all the extra pressure of Covid nonsense is an accomplishment. Some teams handled it poorly, but this Alabama team thrived.

Well. the thing is, nobody is saying Alabama wasn't a deserving national champion this year. That's not debatable. They were the best team of all season.

It's when you try to pimp yourself as the greatest college football team of all time. That's when it becomes comical.

It's as silly as saying the 2020 Lakers are the greatest NBA champion of all time had they broken numerous records inside their bubble.

My point is we played a full slate y’all didn’t. We played in hostile environments y’all didn’t. We had a one week bye in November y’all had a three week bye. We played a 14 win team for the title y’all played a 7 win team. Amongst other things.

Like I told the other guy, nobody is saying your team this year wasn't a deserving champion. But acting like your squad this year was miles above teams like 1995 Nebraska and 2001 Miami is lulz worthy.

Is anyone doing that? Im not particularly on board with the whole GOAT team claims but I fail to see why 2020 Bama cannot be evaluated the same way as teams in the past.

LSU won the SEC title game and their playoff games against better teams.
Lsu outscored better opponents 142-63
Bama 135-84. Bama might be a top 10 all time while lsu is #1

1995 Nebraska
4 Top 10 Teams Defeated by an average of 49-18 (30.7 MOV)

2019 LSU
4 Top 10 Teams Defeated by an average of 46-26 (19.6 MOV)

2020 Alabama
4 Top 10 Teams Defeated by an average of 44-22 (22.5 MOV)

1995 Nebraska remains the gold standard for dominance in college football. 2001 Miami and 2004 USC are a level below the above 3

wrong answer. LSU beat 4 ranked in the top 10 final poll. Where they ranked early in the season is useless. Texas, for example, was top 10 when LSU beat them but nowhere near it by the time the season shook out

To be fair, there is already. Pitts didn't play in that game. Had he played I don't think the Tigers win.

Guess that's the difference in us though. I can admit when outside factors impact games and y'all can't.

Alabama defeated teams ranked 2, 4, 5, 7 & 13 in final AP poll.

By a combined score of 228-132.

These teams won the:

The B1G
The SEC East
The Sugar Bowl
The Armed Forces Bowl
The Peach Bowl
The Orange Bowl
The Outback Bowl
The Taxslayer Bowl

Greatest team ever.

When you can go to a Bowl with 3 wins and other team has have their players op-put or Covid Positive, you don't have mush of a point. This was just an Exhibition Season to cash the TV Check.

When you have the likes of ULL, Coastal Carolina, Liberty, Buffalo, San Jose St, and Ball St in the top 25 then the season is a bit fricky

Somebody had to replace LSU when they went crashing out of the top 25.

Tia was hurt and our two mlbs were out vs LSU last year. But that is different somehow, right?
