Oh shite. Thats my graphic that I made last summer when UT and OU were announced. Nice to see that its still being shared. Here is a better resolution image.

Finding matchups for the former Big 12 teams + plus Arkansas are the hardest since theres always going to be an odd man out. They all want to play each other but only 4 teams can make this happen. That's why the UF-Oklahoma matchup is there. Another weird one to figure out is that status of the Arkansas-Texas A&M game in Arlington. If that isn't annual anymore, then both teams would only get 3 SEC home games on odd years. I made this graphic when the expansion was announced and implied that UT-Tech and the Bedlam rivalry would continue. We now know thats no longer the case. Here is the original graphic that showed my initial matchups. I made changes based on input from here. This one is broken into even & odd years on different graphs.

Yes. They automatically get Alabama and UGA to start with. They should get Vandy to make it kind of fair for Auburn.

Don't stick Mizzou with Ole Miss. There's no history between the programs.

Sometimes it’s nice to have change. Just embrace your new rival and be happy.

I'm cool with getting Arkansas, but not if they are paired with another SWC/Big 8 inbreed. I want at least 2 permanents that are charter SEC, and Florida better be one of them, or I'm burning shite.

Ours should be Florida, Ole Miss, and either Bama/Ark/umat.

There is history.

In 1992, Auburns two annual opponents from the East were Florida and Georgia.

Compare that to Bama playing Tennessee and Vandy…. And LSU playing Florida and Kentucky.

The author said his predictions are merely guesses. Better guesses:

AL - AU OM TN
AR - OM MO TX
AU - AL GA MS
FL - GA LS SC
GA - AU FL SC
KY - SC TN VU
LS - FL MS TA
OM - AL AR MS
MS - AU LS OM
MO - AR OK VU
OK - MO TX TA
SC - FL GA KY
TN - AL KY VU
TX - AR OK TA
TA - LS OK TX
VU - KY MO TN

Here is my guess. Just like how the Big 6 all had each other as permanent cross division rivals during the old model, the new format will have the Big 8 all playing 2 other Big 8 teams and one other 8 and the other 8 will play 2 from the other 8 and one from the Big 8. Its the best way to provide quality tv and maintain fairly equitable schedules. Auburn is not going to get stuck playing Bama, UGA, and LSU every year.
