Was watching the Rich Eisen show and listened to a few things AJ had to say and so I took a little time to learn more about DK Metcalf (interviews/aspirations etc.)….these guys are some fantastic alums for your university, man. Ole Miss had 2 All Pro WR on the same team for 2 years straight and never had an above .500 season AND a pro bowl tight end on the 2016 team!

Ole Miss you had like 3 Julio Jones on your football team in 2016 and you lost to Vanderbilt and almost to Georgia Southern the frick you on.

But yes, nevertheless, you should be proud of them as alums. DK wants to be a chef and open a restaurant (I guess post football?) of all things.

Matt Luke and defense.

Offense wasn't the problem.

And our WR’s didn’t know how to run routes, they were never taught.

Except to “ get open”. That’s it. That’s the coaching they received .

In 2016 we had:

Evan Ingram (NY Giants)
Dawson Knox (Buffalo Bills)
AJ Brown (Tennessee Titans)
DK Metcalf (Seattle Seahawks)
Van Jefferson (LA Rams)
Tre Nixon (Pats 7th round pick this year)

Plus 3 other receivers that made NFL rosters in some capacity on practice squads

AJ and DK barely played in 2016. Both were true freshmen behind Stringfellow, Evan Engram, Van Jefferson, and Quincy Adeboyejo (all still in the league except Stringfellow) and DK broke his foot early in the year.

Beyond that, it was bad defense and a mediocre OC hire in Longo by Hugh Freeze. AJ owns or owned (until Elijah this year) just about every Ole Miss receiving record.

Not surprised about wanting to open a restaurant, his family has had great BBQ in the Grove for many years.

And people told us we should have kept Matt Luke. UGA actually hired him.

2016 hogs had a couple late round picks and Ragnow.

Arkansas 34
Ole Miss 30

Smack down

I believe Arkansas had a similar 4th and long the year before this in Oxford.....I could try to find that clip as a refresher if it helps?

Throw in there Machine Gun Kelly. Thanks you Matt Luke and a defense that could not stop a dead grand mother in a walker!
