I'm very, very concerned about this game. We must play well, or we will lose.

I think South Carolina will struggle to score as they aren't good throwing the ball and that is the Achilles heel of the A&M defense.

Both defenses are good and I think the A&M offense is probably a little better. A&M should win in a low scoring game.

Wouldn’t surprise me.

After the opening demoralizing loss to ND, this team has won on the road in the Swamp. Won on a neutral field against Arkansas. Won on the road amidst a scrappy cow bell team. Managed 2 solid wins at home against ranked SEC opponents (whether or not those 2 teams were overrated is another discussion).

Every week has presented a new challenge, yet this team has faced each head-on.

Just keep winning.

I know a lot of folks are thinking A&M trips up against USCe. And we could certainly lose.

But I think we take care of business. The maturity of the team last night to not take themselves out of the game early and keep plugging away was encouraging for me.

I don’t think Elko and team leaders will allow a letdown or trap game. This team seems focused and disciplined.

If South Carolina wins they will have played with their hair on fire.

I’d happily take a one score victory v the Cocks.

A common topic at the tailgate yesterday was how we’d probably beat LSU yesterday (no offense to the Tigers; it was a helluva game) then go on to lose at So. Carolina.

Wouldn’t surprise me if that very scenario materialized.

Our offense will have to put up points to have a chance on Saturday.

This is the kind of game that Beamer lays an egg in

How so? I’m genuinely curious … and your answer may help to alleviate my crazy high anxiety level about the game .

Every variable surrounding the matchup points to Beamer having all kinds of variables around which to prepare his team for a prime time showdown. And their big win against OU in their last game (plus a bye week this past weekend) ought to give ‘em a solid shot of momentum.

I’m not necessarily doubting your comment—I’ve not closely followed Beamer’s tenure at SCar—I’m just wondering why you think he has a track record/what is his history of laying an egg in similar scenarios? Because from this Ag’s standpoint, the game has all the trappings of a Gamecock upset of A&M.

Normally I'd agree with you ... but that Ole Miss game forced him to grow the frick up, finally. That game bitched slapped the egg laying out of him.

We may lose, probably will, but it will not be because of Beamer laying an egg. Neither will it be because of bonehead mistakes by all of these freshman.

That Ole Miss game was a good learning experience for this team.

Plus, and no one is talking about this .... that Ole Miss game was coming off an off week, just as this A&M game is that's coming up this Saturday. The staff changed their approach this past week. We're not going to see them lay an egg. It'll be a battle.

The real question is just how lit Williams-Brice will be. Because, if it's a close game, everyone knows that Billy Brice at night, there's no tougher venue in the country at night if the game is close. And this is the first conference night game of the season for us.

The matchups are interesting ... especially that both teams will be starting freshman QBs. Both teams have solid defenses. Both teams are gonna wanna run first ... but SC may have a slight advantage with their passing game. And while A&M's quick little QB is going to get all the attention ... ask LSU if Sellers can tuck it and take off.

This is a very very interesting matchup.

I wish I was going to be there in person but I'll be watching, with my Son and Brothers, from a hunting lodge in Michigan.

This has the potential for a great game written all over it.

I could be wrong though, who knows. We shall see.

I think aTm beats USCe, wins out, and goes to Atlanta.

Where they lose.
