Don't know much about Auburn aside from the fact that they're only 4 games into what is likely going to be a full rebuild that will take at least a full season and the 2024 offseason.

A&M's DL talent acquisition has been the cornerstone of their recruiting success in the past few years. That's probably their deepest and most talented position group (maybe QB when Weigman is healthy)

I wouldn't sell the Arkansas O-Line, or KJ for that matter, short. They looked like they were moving the Tigers defense for a large portion of the game on Saturday, and LSU has plenty of talent on their defense, too. KJ made some sharp throws.

Expecting a close game akin of the prior two seasons

Auburn is god awful at QB. They had WRs running free all game long but their QBs usually couldn't see them and when they did couldn't make the throws

Sounds like LSU during many seasons with Les. Frustrating as hell.

Durkin is very multiple, and not all of those three man fronts are what they appear.

Agree, but it's just as often the other way around, where he'll line up 4 or 5 on the line, and the drop 1 or 2 into coverage and only rush 3.

I don't claim to be a football genius, but I would think a coordinator would want to put our biggest disruptive weapons to use more often than not. Even a mediocre QB can pick apart a secondary when they have enough time.

Honestly, once they figured out Auburn wasn’t going to throw, Durkin proceeded to just blitz the heck out of them. We weren’t even disguising it at one point. Just lined up Bryce Anderson right on the line and going after them.

A&M’s defensive line is missing a pass rusher that can make the QB feel pressure off the edge, but other than that it’s about as good as you can ask for. You can argue that an elite pass rusher is the most coveted aspect of a defensive line, and I would say that’s probably why A&M hasn’t forced almost any turnovers this year. Arky’s offensive line hasn’t looked great, but without a pass rush KJ might be able to handle it. I don’t think the piglets will rush the ball that well unless Durkin’s 3 man fronts start getting dissected(which isn’t unlikely). A&M definitely has the edge in the matchup, but it’s not as unworkable for the Hogs as you might think on paper.

Respecting the pass should mean forcing a quick throw or a scramble after 1-2 seconds.

If 4 DL can accomplish that, great. If not, bring pressure on passing downs.

More DBs in coverage is not the answer, and did nothing to stop Miami.

Very insightful and agree 100%.

This comes down to Durkin calling the right scheme.

Simple as that.

Appreciate the feedback guys. Looking forward to it! Never know what you get with hogs. Still don’t understand the BYU loss at home when we outplayed them in every category but the one that matters, the scoreboard. Very frustrating to watch us lose to BYU then squeak out a tough loss to lsu on the road. Jeckyl and Hyde team we have

That was the most frustrating part of the Miami game. It was not working but we continued to do it.

That’s why I have to believe Durkin is rational and can see the field. If you’re going to get sliced up, at least make the QB feel some hits.

That’s what Auburn did to us.

Replacing Jaylon Jones and Antonio Johnson wasn’t an easy task. But I think Bryce and DeBerry will continue to improve to fill those shoes.

I can't believe it. I actually agree with everything you said.

To add: KJ is the real deal. He is a baller and will need to be contained. Also, You know Petrino wants to win this one. BAD!. It will be interesting to see if they have been holding something back and how Petrino will use it.

I am expecting a very tough game from both teams.

Sucks man, sounds like Jardin Gilbert might be done for the season. He had surgery. Looks like Jacoby Mathews is next man up. He had a good game against Auburn.

I agree. Sucks for Jardin but he should make it back for the last few games. There was no drop off in performance with Jacoby. Our defense has pretty good depth at most positions.

Saturday is going to be a knock down- drag out though

Good luck this weekend, Hawgs. I wouldn’t put any $$ on this game if I was a gambling man as this is a toss up in my opinion.

People don’t realize we’re putting a hot blonde in the coaches box right next to him for a distraction.
