Cignetti is good however, his sample is 30% of the others. Give him 3 years and we check again. No doubt he will do well though.

Agreed - he's really good and nothing against what he's done; however, that's just 9 games. The next smallest number is 24.

The only time the Pac 12 has ever received any credit on this board is when Bama fans tell us about Kalen Deboer's winning percentage vs. Top 25 teams.

I'd disagree. I think Cignetti just pulled off the greatest coaching job in the history of the NCAA. Indiana went from being the college football program that was referenced anytime somebody needed to reference the worst college football program ever to being 27-2 in the last 2 seasons and the national champs.
I think a strong case could be made to put that sonofabitch on the Mount Rushmore of college football coaches right now, and I'm being serious.

bullshite.
Most here loved the Pac-12, Penix, Washington and Deboer in 2024. Most were pulling for Washington against Texas and Michigan in the playoffs.
It wasn’t until Deboer was announced as Alabama’s coach that everyone here suddenly changed their mind.

I'm a little surprised by Freeman. I thought he'd be sub 500 for some reason.

A lot of his top 25 match-ups are service academies and middling ACC schools.
This is also looking at wins against ranked teams at the time of the game rather than the final polls. They have 2 regular season wins against teams that finished in the top 25 the last 2 years.
You do have to give them credit for the playoff run but even then, it was a newbie Indiana team and UGA with their back-up QB. Penn State was pretty solid though.

For the 10,000th time, Notre Dame was also playing with a ton of back ups in the UGA game. Effectively the entire starting D line was out in that game. Jeremiyah Love only touched the ball 6 times in that game because of injury - having one of the best players in the sport effectively sidelined mattered just as much as alien head Beck being out for Stockton.

He has won everywhere he’s been.

As usual when stuff like this comes up, I'd really want to know if this is ranking at game time or end of year.
Ranking at gametime is utterly useless and kinda bullshite tbh.

I think it matters if it is in November far more than in September because in theory teams have played some hard games by then. If you are 9-2 in November and ranked 9 that is different than being 2-0 ranked 9 in Mid Sept right?

Exactly, The only poll that matters is the last poll. Every other poll is proven to be wrong.

Such a monumental difference in a back-up QB making their first ever start vs. your RB being limited. UGA also had other injuries.

I would value Kirby Smarts record more than all others due to sample size.
