This group of Pac 12 players (who are not named individually) are asking for, among other things, 50% of revenues generated by the league.

I was actually kind of shocked when I read the tweet. Can’t remember the last time Wolken actually reported something instead of giving out shitty opinions.

These players will demand college football pay them right back to the point of club football teams. And that may not be a bad thing.

Hopefully they will let us know how that worked out when it doesn't happen. I guess they think it's too politically incorrect to tell them no, or people are too scared to. Starting to look like a bunch of toddlers throwing a temper tantrum. Let them cry it out, eventually they will stop

Dan Wolken has rubbed his junk raw over this report.

It’s his wet dream.

Exactly!!

So you are going to take away half of their revenue?

Know what happens when a business loses half of it’s revenue?

So yes, that demand is very laughable.

And of course, these “demands” are wrought with BLM bullshite.

2% of the conference revenue (secured by all races) must be given directly to black people.

Like the NFL, these athletes are so fkg stupid I am amazed they can tie their own shoes. These activists get into their small brains and convince them that they deserve all these rainbows and unicorn farts. I hope this continues and they lose every opportunity extended to them.

If you're Saban or Dabo and you're making $9 Million per year, are you gonna allow things to deteriorate to the club sport Level knowing that a Club Sport cannot pay you $9 million per year?

The power brokers that are making millions will create a system to KEEP THEIR MILLIONS coming in while also "attempting to be more fair economically" to the Players

No sane person is gonna sit back and watch a $9 million per yr gig evaporate based on some out dated quasi racist ideologies of an amateur model

Use some level of reason

If this is true this is beyond stupid

I agree that the Players should get larger Stipends and secure more Economic fairness for themselves, but that 2% number is lunacy

Im pretty sure the people who hire and fire head coaches have more clout than the head coaches.

I'm pretty sure that the boosters and alumni who provide the funding have more clout than the players.

I just wanted to throw out a little reason and sunshine on this thread for you.

I would like to hear from the accountants on the board related to student athletes and taxable income...

What if the schools handed the athletes a W2 for the non-cash benefits they receive; i.e. housing, food plans, tuition reimbursement, etc. Throw in “likeness” income while you’re at it.

What would their taxable income look like? Should we assume they would get get crushed with state taxes on the West Coast?

My advice to them... Be careful what you wish for.

I'm for better health care for the players.
And better family care (both for parents of players and for the players with children)

But I'm not opposed to stricter academic policies.
