Is it normal for police to call the Head ball coach when arresting a player?

Hopefully BRPD has similar protocol

The player called. However in the UGA case mentioned in this thread the police did call the coaches...

Tennessee must have royally pissed off the sports gods. Holy shite what a disaster of a program and this year in general has been a nightmare.

Unfortunately he knows as much about how warrants work as he does asparagus.

I do love to make fun of him for that..."Wut's that?" but in reality he was referring to the hollandaise sauce being poured on it.

But "pot residue"? Not sure I've seen that happen anywhere else.

Cops use that line all the time. They'll say they "smell" pot and then magically find seeds, stems, or bits of opt leaf on the floor board. They then pressure you to accept a plea deal by saying you're totally fricked and may as well get off lighter b/c if you go tot court they'll throw the book at you.

Meanwhile the substance that was found often comes back negative for pot. If you already accepted your plea deal too bad so sad you're boned.

They'll do the same thing for other drugs as well. Earlier this year the Georgia Southern QB was arrested for cocaine possession for what turned out to be bird shite on the hood of his car. Cops claimed it tested positive on site. If he hadn't been a football player with a HC who backed him he may have been bullied into admitting something he didn't do.

You mean Pruitt tried to lie to get a player out of being arrested? I'm shocked.

The hypocrisy by UGA fans is pretty funny. They were all licking his balls when Richt hired him from FSU after winning the title. His reputation preceded him even then.

Ok I think a lot of ppl are taking this out of context after rewatching it. Jeremy isn’t talking about other places not arresting kids...he’s saying that at other jobs the police dept will warn the coaching staff/school about the warrant to avoid a random arrest. The kid was arrested over a parking ticket and he was frustrated. Where he’s from cops are hated so it’s a natural reaction to be pissed over being arrested over something like this...still shouldn’t have said what he said but let’s not crucify a kid for being a kid.

Someone in the media leaked this to get Pruitt fired.

Pruitt should have never been on the phone but I don’t see a problem with what he did. The kid said something terrible but if he doesn’t have a track record then hard to condemn him as some evil criminal.

Pruitt sounded like the dickhead redneck we all know he is. Terrible look for a head coach.

You are told there will be a warrant for your arrest if you dont appear or handle your business when the police release you. so he was absolutely told he would have a warrant.

You are missing a lot of context here.

Banks was never informed a warrant was issued for his arrest. Perhaps Pruitt was talking about the state of Tennessee not informing people warrants were taken out for their arrest?

Full transcipt:

Are you kidding? We live in a time when people get off on taking stuff out of context. This isn't isolated to sports.

Zeke Pike was kicked off Auburn’s team, similarly, after his last offense was a public intox. Multiple offenses can lead to lesser things leading to a boot.

My thoughts, fans of a school that let a rapist like Winston play and made that poor girl the enemy of the town, should shut the frick up. Your police department in tallycrappy is as corrupt as I’ve ever seen.

He’s probably right about UA. Saban worked out some kind of deal with the TPD. Plus he was there to see how it worked. Knoxville is way too big of a town to pull that off.

I am no elitist, but is there any way to play that fragment in your head without hearing the dumbest neck voice imaginable.

At this point you should be professional enough to speak like an educated adult. I would extrapolate that into every aspect of his career if he was my employee.

Dude, you are obsessed with UGA. We should name you Honorary Resident UGA Historian. I'll create a badge or a patch of some sort.
