Having played SC more times does not equal more history. It just means more games.
What game with SC comes close to Herschel running over Bill Bates or the Hobnail Boot game...
or the game where UGA put its best pash rusher in the endzone?
UGA is 20-17-1 against UT.
UGA is 42-17-1 with SC.
One of those series is a lot more lopsided than the other.

The ACC is basically an upgraded east coast version of the new Big 12 with only 2 flagship state universities and very few meaningful football rivalries. It also can't be split geographically in a way that is competitively balanced. So pods make total sense for them. I still think the SEC works best in east/west divisions and an expanded 9 game conference schedule with no permanent cross-division opponent (no need anymore).

and you can pretend that more games and a more history is not important, but the fact is that UGA is the most important game for SC to keep - that’s going to matter
in fact, it will guarantee that game gets kept on the schedule no matter what

What I'd like it to be:
Texass
Arkansas
Alabama
What it would likely be:

Arkansas
Missouri

Same can be said about 8&4 with LSU. In fact, since joining the SEC 8&4 has the same record against Alabama as they do against LSU.

Bama would get:
Vandy, Kentucky, Mississippi State
j/k
Auburn, Tennessee, and Miss St. most likely

True, also, UGA played South Car and Clemson almost every year while I was growing up and GT every year. UGA and South Car has pretty deep roots.

Arkansas: LSU, Ole Miss, Texas

Several folks seem to forget how long a history Kentucky and Vanderbilt have. Our history with them is almost as long as Kentucky-Tennessee....which is the second oldest rivalry in the conference.
Kentucky, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt are all pretty well set on playing each other.
For Tennessee their obvious third is Alabama.
For us I'd say most UK fans would want one of South Carolina, Mizzou, or Mississippi State.
Vandy I'd think would want Ole Miss for their third.

Based on last years final Conference ranking, evens are one division and play everyone in their division, odds are another division and play everyone in their division, 2 best records get the CCG....that would be 7 regular conf games , could have 1 annual rival or replacement if annual rival ended up in your division that year.....would still just be 8 conf games plus CCG,...plenty of room for OOC,,,most importantly no he gets the CCG due to a weak schedule.....

I would think Florida would want 3 out of these 4.
Georgia, Tennessee, LSU, Auburn.
