How did you feel about the A+ from GLAAD?

Who is GLAAD and why should I care?

The BCA is here to point out injustice in the Good ole boy network of college football. For example the black coach Colorado just fired was only given 2 years to turn around a horrid program, while Dan Hawkins was given 5 years. Out of 47 Black Coaches only Ty Willingham was given a 2nd chance to coach a BCS level school while the white coaches just recycle, therefore the existence of the BCA.

The really funny thing to me is A&M asked for permission to interview Charlie Strong as well but Louisville wouldn't give it and made it almost impossible for Strong to interview unless he knew he had the job.
It's important to bring up points like this to discredit stupid organizations like the BCA that have lost sight of their original purpose.
Personally I can't imagine any school in the country today intentionally hiring a white coach over a black coach if they felt they were equally qualified. The majority of football recruits are still black and certainly there is an advantage there. The problem is there just aren't that many highly qualified black coaches though every year the pool of candidates grows.

I am so sick of this crap. The answer is simple....just win, baby! The more successful black coaches prove to be, the more opportunities there will be. Kevin Sumlin is a good black coach who did well at Houston and got awarded for it by Texas A&M. Charlie Strong just led Louisville to a BCS game and will probably get an SEC head coaching job. Stanford's David Shaw has shown to be a good coach.
Just like white coaches, there are good black coaches and bad black coaches, Jon Embree was a bad coach who probably landed the job at CU because he was black when there were plenty of better coaches out there. His teams sucked and showed no improvement. That is why he was fired.

Dan Hawkins sucked also, the point is he was given 5 years and Embree only 2. That is the whole point and you sir are missing the point, So what was the explanation for notre dame firing ty willingham. I am glad for Sumlin and Strong, they are proving given the same level of playing field black coaches can compete. And the BCA is there to get those coaches IN THE DOOR because that door was sealed and locked for decades. That is the sole purpose of the BCA.

Hawkins got to a bowl game in year 2, no? Thats explains having more than 2 years.... plus colorado was not routinely getting blown out under Hawkins, as I recall... this past year, colorado was losing by 50 a game it seemed like.

Well just as the black quarterback has excelled when that DOOR was opened, so will the black coaches when given the same chance to compete on the same level.

average score in colorado game this year: 46 - 17.8
I think thats a good enough reason to fire ANYBODY in their second year

yeah playing with ONLY 8 seniors on the entire roster, playing with your 2 deep of freshmen and redshirt freshmen is cause to fire someone.

Ole Miss hires Hugh Freeze, gets an A
A&M gets an F
A&M gets an F

Thats the point, while a coach like Lane Kiffen can get plush jobs with Tenn and USCw name me one black coach with the same credentials as Kiffen would have sniffed a job offer from those schools. So the BCA is relevant just because you refuse to acknowledge it doesn't mean its not relevant. The head coach at kent state is a better coach than kiffen so is franklin from vandy.
