they colluded to not sign him this year.

Do what? You got some type of evidence to support this?
Were they having conference call every week?

Says who?

Once again, who's calling for his arrest or denying his free speech these days?

Why would anyone call and ask this question? All he's doing is asking for a rise out of someone and it's entirely unnecessary. frick that guy.

Depends on how much money he's asking for.

Pretty darn savvy response, really. Sabes didn't get to the top of the game by being stupid. He knows how to play the game.... and I don't mean (necessarily) football

This. The flag is a symbol. The Constitution is the real thing that guarantees our rights. People don't know what America is.

He gave a perfectly crafted answer for someone wanting to stay out of the political fray.

He basically avoided the issue entirely by saying he believes in freedom of speech. Not a single person on either side of the issue has contested whether the demonstration is protected by the First Amendment. Smart answer by Saban but it is about as vanilla and agnostic as could be on the subject.

Of course he is going to try to stay neutral and if and lean to the left. If you goes against the players the media will call him a racist anc that's not good for recruiting.

The Constitution is something the flag is a symbol for. The flag represents the country and it's ideals, laws, principles, etc. This isn't rocket science. Anyone can go and read Kaepernick's statements about his thoughts on this. It's crystal clear. He views the flag as a symbol of the country and its values (which is a totally basic and correct interpretation) and he thinks it's not worth honoring because of his own OPINION that this country's values are not worth honoring.

As much as I love Saban as a coach, I wouldn't mind if he retired after the 2019 season to run for Senate in 2020. Some things are more important than football.

I can dig it. He walked the hell out of that fine line.

Plus, he's 10 steps ahead of most college coaches who will see programs take a hit from recruiting if they say the wrong sht when issues like this are at the forefront. There will be some, it's coming. But, recruiting will be affected and so will their programs. I don't think Saban has a real prejudice bone in his body. I respect him for that.

I've always viewed standing with respect during the National Anthem as respecting every man and woman who has ever sacrificed their life, defending this nation, so that you and I can enjoy the freedoms that we enjoy in this country.

Kneeling during the National Anthem is the equivalent of going to someone's funeral (let's say your son or daughter or mother or father).

And during their funeral the person presiding over the service asks everyone to stand in a moment of silence and prayer to honor the life of your son/daughter/mother/father. While everyone else stands in respect, some a-hole takes a knee just down the row from you.

How do you feel about that? Are you a cuck if you get upset?

Some people kneel to pray.

This seems silly to debate. He has a better TD to INT ratio than 4 of the top 10 QB's in the league. I didn't say he is being denied a starting position but when you think of the weakness of that position in the league he clearly is gifted enough to be a #2. Colluded implies something different than I meant. It is clear all the owners exercised their right to not give him a job despite at least 5 teams needing his talent in the #2 slot.

I never said anything about denying him his right or arrest...my comments are directed at those who in faux outrage act as if his actions are some how less American, etc...His actions even if I disagree with him define American liberties.

Within our liberties the appropriate way to counter protest is through reasonable and peaceful measures. I would argue all the weeping and gnashing of teeth is "unreasonable". Anyone respectfully disagreeing with him, as I, is reflective of the values this country is built upon. The problem in many cases as is true of this particular controversy, which was barely on the radar of most Americans and most guys in the NFL, prior to last week...starts at the top.

You know why this is even being discussed?Because you guys inject politics into EVERYTHING.Why did ESPN become nothing more than the sports dept of MSNBC? Sports used to be an escape for this garbage but your side had to go ahead politicize this part of the culture.

My side? I'm not liberal or conservative. I tend to vote more liberal lately because the conservatives are all shite stuffers who only want to build war machines, bitch about other people getting equal right (but claim it's because their rights are being taken away), and feed into the concervative christian crapfest.

Your own statement is prove of your stupidity.

You said the faces of the GOP are neo-Nazi supporters. The burden is on you to provide that evidence, not for me to provide evidence that they're not. Go ahead. Name them and provide the evidence.

Your logic would be the same as me saying that you molest little boys, and then demanding you prove that you don't.

That's why your post was pure stupidity.

You're such a nag/negative/patronizing poster on here. I don't even always disagree with you on the actual topics but you win no points with me simply by the way you express your thoughts. I think that was a big issue with the democratic party as a whole the last election and I don't think they've learned their lesson yet.

That's what conservatives do. The fear of Muslims is laughable. You are more likely to win the lottery than be killed by a Muslim terrorist but that was all Chump and his cronies could talk about. Like it's really a threat.

You are more likely to be killed by a dog, vending machines, swings, or your own bed than a Muslim terrorist.
