I award him points for diplomacy but there was no reinventing of the wheel in the actual comment. It was basically 'girls, girls, you're both pretty'. Of course, with a subject that's been beat to death it's hard to be revolutionary.
And as someone else mentioned he was definitely prepared for that question- which, I reckon, isn't a bad thing and just another example of Saban being prepared.

It was at least the second time he's been asked that question this week.

Not even close. If you go to a funeral, everyone is there to support he family or remember the one that died. If you are protesting at a funeral, you are protesting the reason everyone is there for. No one goes to a football game for the national anthem. It's just something they tend to do before the game.

People criticize Saban for not taking a side, but we have too many people today who are too quick to jump in and draw lines in the sand on every issue or topic that comes up.
