Let's run over his main points:
1. It stinks that something that used to be unifying is now divisive.
2. The players intend no disrespect to veterans or the military.
3. In fact, the freedom of expression is one of the most important values veterans have fought to protect.
4. While Saban wouldn't protest during the anthem himself, he respects the different opinions if others and affirms their right to protest that way if they choose to do so.
Sounds pretty sensible to me.

One thing that makes Saban great is he thought he would be asked this question...likely sometime during the fall of 2016...then thoughtfully crafted an answer that was both honest, but straightforward to point out the hypocrisy of all sides. I respect Saban more each year.
