LSU also lost their starting quarterback and had some opt-outs and injuries.

Face it bayou boy, BAMA could have gone from azz-whopping to destruction on a biblical level if they had not restrained themselves on our home away from home. Your team was physically and psychologically finished after the first quarter. Marshall was smart enough after the TAMU game to get out of Dodge before he too got caught up in that meat grinder. Orgeron tried to run away as fast as he could himself from this oncoming tsunami all season. The Commish wasn't having it. You and the rest of the football world found out why. But you too knew what was coming, now didn't you?

Nailed that. If you grew up in Alabama you know who your rival is. And it isn't Tennessee, Georgia, or LSU. They are second to the main rival.

*SidewalkTiger is speaking in the topic about Jimbo and his time at Florida State and Texas A&M*

Insecure Alabama fan has to to talk about Alabama vs LSU:

Going 7-6 in 2017 with all the injuries, including QB isn't self-destructing.

And LSU had their #1 wr, #1 and 2 DT’s opt out/transfer, #2 corner transfer, all before the season.

In the beginning of the year the #1 qb got knocked out after 3 games and were forced to turn to a pair of true freshman qb’s.

Then, towards the end of the year the new #1 wr and the next most productive receiving threat opted out of the season with a few games left.

So it actually is really comparable.

bamameister is white knighting for Aggie so hard that he's just started making absurd statements and contradicting himself now.

It got so bad that now he's deflected to LSU-Alabama.

BAMA played them that year and they were all we could handle and ranked #3 deservedly, but you knew that. Being a shoe toss from 4-6

You can't tell these fools anything. LSU was ranked anywhere from 4-6 in all major Preseason polls and damn went 4-6.

FSU started QB went out for the season. LSU starting QB went out for the season.

I don't understand the strength of schedule argument either. 4 of LSU wins were against teams that had a combined 9-40 record.

So according to you and bamameister:

5-5 by LSU and Orgeron is an absolute travesty but 7-6 by Florida State and Fisher wasn't.

Almost as easy as this prediction:

LSU is almost everybody’s A game target. The only team in the west that would rather beat anybody on their schedule besides LSU is Auburn who lusts to Beat Bama. Also Florida may at this point, want to beat LSU more than UGA.

This is a good thread.

My favorite part is how you left out A&M.

Most of us forget they're in the SEC, too.

Did I say that? I pointed out similarities between the two...you guys have simply dismissed the argument entirely.

Can't prop up the all SEC schedule in this thread and say a different thing in others...not specifically saying you.

I absolutely agree with you, there are definitely similarities.

bamameister touts Jimbo constantly as a "great coach" then disparages other coaches with things that are equally as true about Jimbo.

I think Jimbo is a great recruiter, I don't necessarily think he's a great coach though. The offensive revolution seems to have passed him by in some ways and he struggled to keep him teams motivated after his initial success at Florida State.

ETA An all SEC schedule is always better than an ACC schedule IMO.

7-6 vs an ACC schedule with an absurdly talented team is not good coaching. Neither is 10-3 the two seasons prior.

Jimbo had far more of a recruiting advantage over the ACC than Saban does over the SEC, losing to people like Boston College is not the mark of a great coach.
