The defense isn’t calling Will Wade as a character witness. My guess is that they’re wanting to muddy the waters with “everyone’s doing it.” If you think the defense is going to say “Do you know Mr. Dawkins? Do you think he’s a good guy?” You’re in for a bit of a letdown.

Sure, but let's be clear about something, this would in no way implicate Will Wade of any federal crime.

What it could do is raise the NCAA's ears, who would then have the choice to open their own independent investigation. Then they would have to find evidence without the subpoena power that the federal government has.

These are important distinctions that anyone must realize before having a rational discussion on this topic.

There was some obvious snark but I just read an article about this and I'm trying to figure out how you decided that 9 plus 6 plus 6 is equal to 36. ETA: Or if you're saying they each got 36 which isn't right either.

Sorry, I just heard a radio blurb claiming that all 3 were facing 3 years each.

Oh, that was the max they were facing.

Judge gave them leniency because they were "just trying to cover for Pitino".

I believe the NCAA can use any information for their investigation. So if it’s part of the court case, they don’t have to re-investigate it independently.

Since the Judge ruled that supposed tape and its transcript was NOT evidence for this trial, I don't see what information they can possibly hope to get from WW.

This X 10000
What the kind of info do they think WW can provide if the only evidence available was some vague tape that was thrown out by the Judge?

Why do you think the defense called him as a witness?

You guys do realize there is another trial where two of these three already going to prison will testify. Their lawyer has said now that they will wreck havoc on college basketball in the next trial. Already sentenced and holding nothing back. Prepare for a bunch of people to fall.

WW was to testify in the Dawkins trial. He's now pled and there will be no trial. No trial, no need for WW to testify.

They were discussing it on ESPN U today. Supposedly there is a lot more information/evidence that’s going to come out in the second trial. Mark Packer was told that Sean Miller and Will Wade are the two that should be nervous right now, especially with the prison sentences that were handed out today. Again, who knows if it’s true or not.
