1. Alabama
2. Kentucky
3. Florida
Those are the actual first 3 names or BRANDS that 99% of the population will recognize when identifying the SEC.
Now, if you want to specialize your thread to be specific to a particular sport, then the names will change accordingly.

It's like they completely forgot they lost to Vanderbilt, Ole Miss and Georgia Tech in Kirby's first year.
Where was the trolling then?

It was an Auburn fan that said UGA over LSU.

Well, the Atlanta market is much bigger than anywhere in Louisiana, so that helps UGA.
It would actually be an interesting comparison between the reach of LSU into Texas vs. UGA up the eastern seaboard.

Again, if we're talking only about football, LSU has a strong argument, at least until Kirby repeats his success a few times.
If we're talking about the brand of the schools overall, it's almost certainly UGA, UF and Bama.

I'm not sure why the 2 LSU fans were so taken aback by your original comment, it's not like you said missouri or something.

I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt that they didn't really understand (despite me saying it) that I'm not simply talking about football performance

By brand I think global exposure to the point of asking random people which they have heard of. With that being the case the three largest brands would be Florida, Texas A&M, and likely Alabama.
If you are talking just football brand in the US it is Alabama, Florida, and likely Tennessee.
