That was probably before Auburn decided it wanted to start annihilating the rest of the conference.

Just think what would have happened if they had "decided" to annihilate LSU and Clemson earlier in the year.

It happened in 2009, so it's not "unheard of" - and the team that did it finished undefeated. Per your logic, Alabama's 2009 squad is the best team in SEC history.

Yeah, but no one gives a shite because Texas's QB and best player got injured in the first series.

I can't even imagine how badly we'd have destroyed you had we knocked out Hurts and you had to turn to the true freshman in that environment.

Lulzy.

How many Alabama players were playing injured during the AU game? So it doesn't count?

I appreciate that man, feels nice hearing an Auburn fan saying that their win doesn't count. I'll still let you guys toss it in the W column though, fair is fair and all that.

Uh. No. Just off the top of my head, 2011 lsu and Alabama would frick up 2017 auburn.

Both of those teams would run it up on the Auburn team.

Playing Clemson at their place is a tall task to ask of a QB who hasn't played in 1.5 years. They're a damn good team and arguably the very best in the country.

LSU was just a shitshow after we built a huge lead. I think our team is better for it now, though.

Actually, Texas was #2 when you played them, but close enough.

They'd have to. Neither of those teams could pass worth a shite.

Don't think it'd be enough against this defense and our offense.

Can you imagine what would have happened if they had knocked out Stidham in the first series and you had to turn to......who?
If....if.....if....
Auburn has a very good team. You MIGHT even win the National Championship. Why isn't that good enough? Why do you have to be crowned the best team of all time?

Sorry, we beat two undefeated teams. Alabama was the only loss either team suffered. You're right though, we were ranked #1 then, not Texas.

Both 2009 Alabama and 2012 Alabama had two-game stretches of incredibly high-ranked teams before the playoffs existed. #1 then #2, and #3 then #1. Still, though, 2009 stands out being the team that gave two 13-win teams their only losses, and one of THOSE 13 win teams (Florida) giving another then-undefeated team their only loss (Cincinnati)

News alert. The best SEC team of all time would not have allowed that to happen.

Not at all. I wasn't trying to be snarky. It is an incredible thing to have done.

I don't think for a second that 2017 Auburn is the best team of all-time, nor is the best Auburn team of this decade.

But we sure as shite wouldn't lose to those offensive embarrassments that were 2011 LSU and 2011 Alabama.

Watching those two offenses literally caused cancer.

Agreed. Which is why I don't believe this is the best SEC team of all-time, as I've already said.

Now I'll give 2011 LSU some credit. They probably would cross the 50 against this AU team, but let's not get carried away.

Once every 4 years the Auburn cockroaches come out of the dark crevices of the rant. It’s truly a sight to behold

The offenses weren't very good, I'll give you that. But those defenses. Wow. I am an old school guy and think defense wins championships. It does help to have offense, though.

And, I think Auburn has a great team this year. Good across both LOS.

The funniest fans are those that think 2011 LSU belongs on the same field as 2010 Auburn.

@ picturing Jordan Jefferson trying to win a gunslinging match against Cameron fricking Newton after Fairley and our DL shut that bullshite run game of theirs down.
