2013 SEC defenses - will they regress?

Is the SEC poised for a bit of regression defensively this year? LSU and Bama are going to be inexperienced on the dline, there is definitely a lack of experienced lockdown corners (see below), and a lot of the traditionally strong defenses aren't returning a lot of tackles.
Gilmore list his top 5 corners going into the season.
1. Ifo Ekpre - Olomu (UO)
2. Bradley Roby (OSU)
3. Jason Verrett (TCU)
4. Darqueze Dennard (MSU)
5. Aaron Colvin (OU)
Purifoy and Belue miss the cut. Here is the cut from CFB Live. Of course, he does state that Purifoy has upside to put him in the top 5 and the NFL will love that.
Phil Steele's % of returning tacklers doesn't have a traditionally strong team until #46.
Tennessee #20
Mississippi #21
UK #24
Auburn #26
Vandy #45
Bama #46
Miss St #66
Missouri #87
Arky #88
A&M #97
LSU #101
Florida #107
S. Carolina #116
Georgia DEAD LAST #126
Even BAMA at #46 is retooling a defensive front. With what seems to be a lot of returning offensive talent and a perceived lack of returning experienced defensive talent, do you see regression?

Not enough to let anyone else win an NC.

Guess A&M and SC aren't in the SEC anymore.

I don't feel any better.

It will be a down year for sure.

I wouldn't worry about Bama & LSUs defense

When has Chavis had a bad defense at LSU? Bad defense at all for that matter.

We redshirt all Americans at Alabama on defense. Don't worry about us

Things that never change on the defensive side of the ball for those SEC programs.

Bama won't be inexperienced on the d-line. Bama rotates the DL a lot, so most of the DLs that will play a lot of minutes had plenty of playing time last year.
When has Saban not had a top 5 defense at Bama outside of his 1st year? Last year and in 2010 were our most inexperienced defenses, and both were top 5 defenses (if not top 3).

Bama will have 2 new starters on the DL but will be experienced and very good at LB. Safety should be excellent. CB is still a bit of a question mark. I'd be surprised if the D isn't top 5 in the country again.

LSU is almost identical to this post.
Only differences are that we replace 3 DL, and safety will be a bit inexperienced. Corner should be very solid:

The SEC will field good defenses. I am asking if you think the league will regress overall defensively. Regression doesn't mean they will be bad or mediocre. Regression just means they will slip overall even if slightly.
Bama reloads. We all know that.

We frequently rotate guys on the D-Line, so it isn't like they are inexperienced. Stinson is a returning starter and Fanning and Pagan had a lot of PT last year. Dickson played a lot as LB and is being converted from Jack LB to a DE. At NT, Brandon Ivory has some PT although it is fair to say he is the least experienced as Jesse Williams played a lot.

When a team's fans have to start comparing their defensive units to their own past defenses they don't have too much to worry about. Bama and LSU are used to this, and it is a wonderful measuring stick to have to use.

I doubt it. The last time I checked the high schools in the southeast were still producing animals and sending them to the SEC.
Basically, the top 4-5 defenses in the SEC will be the top 4-5 defenses in the nation
