Both were uber talented 9-3 teams. The teams before and after each of them won a title too. Both teams lost in nail biters where they led the entire game against the eventual Nat’l champs (‘07 LSU and ‘10 Auburn)

2007 Florida: Losses to Aub by 3, @ LSU by 4, UGA by 12

2010 Bama: losses @ USCe by 14, @ LSU by 3, and @ Aub by 1

Depends.

Alabama was injury-prone that entire year. The first time we showed up in the season with a fully intact and healthy roster (minus Mark Barron) was the 2011 Capital One Bowl against #7 and 11-1 Michigan State. We beat them 49-7.

The 2010 squad had something like 11-13 future first rounders on the two-deep. Just goes to show you how talent isn't everything.

They also both won national titles the following year and were coming off championships the previous year. My hunch is Tebow would will Florida to victory in that one.

One of the biggest arse beatings I have ever seen. It could have been so, so, so much worse than 49-7.

If it is in a strict hypothetical vacuum, I think Alabama wins a close one.

Alabama's DBs would get torched by Florida but Florida would not be able to stop Alabama run game. This is a game that plays out like the UF-UGA game in 2007 imo. UGA just dominated the fourth quarter by how I remember that one going. Partly because they'd been bludgeoning them all day with Moreno.

It would be a very good game but I think like others have said they eventually wear us out with the ground and pound. 28-24 would be my guess.

Florida defense still seemed a year away. Bama definitely has the veteran advantage in this hypothetical

Similar to 2005 LSU.

By the SEC Championship they were mentally and physically drained from no off week and dealing with the distractions of the hurricane, leading to a let down loss to UGA.

By the time they faced Miami in the Peach bowl they were rested. Destroyed them 40-3.

Took Miami 20 years to recover from that

2010 Bama.

The 07 Florida team was not a good defensive team

Although it was, literally, a year away, in that season it seemed five years away.

That we went from that bad to that good in a year still doesn't make sense to me.

Every SEC team scored at least 20 against us. Troy scored 31.

Next year only two teams did in the regular season. In 2009 only one did.

One team from 16yrs ago and one from 19yrs ago..... who cares? It's an outcome that can't be proven and is all hypothetical.

2010 Alabama should’ve beaten the national champs. Ball didn’t bounce their way

I couldn’t believe what they did to Michigan State in the bowl game

I was legitimately concerned for the safety of the Michigan State team that day.

That was one of if not the single angriest non playoff bowl performances I’ve ever seen.

Not so CSB: Went to that bowl game with a buddy of mine who always predicts doom. If Bama played Slippery Rock all I'd hear all week is things like, "Slippery Rock has a great option QB. I don't think we can stop him!" or "Their DBs will shut our WRs down". Anyway, we get there early and watching the teams on the field during warmups it was readily apparent there was a whole different breed of animal in crimson compared to green. I said to him, "Doomsayer, this game is already over". "Don't say that! This is going to be close". Then, it was about 28-0 before the National Anthem was even finished.

They played in the 2008 and 2009 SEC Championship Game.

I’d take Alabama 2010.

Saban was better than Meyer.

Who was missing from the Iron Bowl?

Not talking about Greg McElroy or Mark Barron, both of which were hurt during the game.

Also, 2010 Alabama > 2007 Florida.
