Florida wasn't all that good in 2007.
Meyer had the same number of clunker seasons (3) as great seasons at Florida, which is why it's complicated when trying to rank his place among the all-time SEC coaching greats.

2010 Alabama was a walking injury. Everyone had issues that year.

Who was missing from the Iron Bowl?
Not talking about Greg McElroy or Mark Barron, both of which were hurt during the game.
Also, 2010 Alabama > 2007 Florida.
Wasn't missing, just nagging injuries for a bulk of the lineup. Mostly ankle injuries but plenty of others that were not bad enough to keep a player out.
Alabama Football: What Can We Still Learn From 2010?
quote:
We didn’t have the ACL type injuries which plagued the 2012 squad. It was ankle injuries which ravaged the defensive front seven putting more pressure on the young secondary to make plays they just weren’t ready to make yet.. Dont’a Hightower was never 100% following his 2009 knee injury and Dareus and Upshaw were both hampered with nagging injuries all year and weren’t able to be as effective rushing the QB as we had hoped. If you can’t rush the QB, and your secondary has holes, bad things are bound to happen. It’s science.
Also, injuries on offense weren’t to be avoided. Both Trent Richardson and Mark Ingram dealt with knee injuries throughout the year. Add the fact the O-line took longer to jell then most expected and you had an ineffective offense.
Mark Ingram was a meniscus tear in preseason camp. I remember Fluker had a groin, B Jones also had an ankle two weeks before Auburn and needed shoulder surgery after the season and Vlachos had a foot that went bad in preseason that he played through. Typical stuff but it was just more than I ever remember them dealing with. And Julio broke his hand midway but he did heal up pretty quick.

07 season was a crazy year. Trying to think how many 2 loss teams were national Champs prior to the playoff. I think it only happened in the era of the AP poll maybe one time before that and it was because the voting was mostly done prior to the 2nd loss in a bowl game.
