You can't throw the ball in that type of weather. So running the ball was the only option and it gave Oregon State a better chance to be more competitive.

Those Beavers really ripped some holes through that Trojan defense.

USC would've STOMPED...STOMPED...STOMPED Auburn!!

The fact that USC had ALREADY beaten the CRAP out of Auburn on Auburn's HOME FIELD and beaten them in Los Angeles before that...well, AL.com says it best......

[b]Even had the Tigers played in the BCS Championship Game, they wouldn’t have beaten USC. They had their chances in 2002 and 2003, and they lost to the Trojans both times, 24-17 in LA and 23-0 in Auburn.

What makes anyone think Auburn could’ve beaten USC the third time around?!!!

USC 2004 beats Auburn 2004 by 3 TD's. Carroll would have coached circles around Tupperware. That Auburn team was good, but overrated. USC was absolutely loaded with talent and very well coached.

As history would reveal Auburn had superior QB play, OL play, LB play, RB play and DB play. The DL was a push and WR were a push. The NFL careers don't lie. I suspect Auburn wins by 10 with Tubbs taking the air out of the ball for much of the 2nd half. That USC team almost lost 5 games that season against marginal competition. People are easily swayed by marketing.

The uga fan brining up the previous 2 seasons loses as if Auburn was the same team is embarrassing. Heck, a superior Auburn team once boat raced uga and then lost the rematch when that same Auburn team was riddled with injuries in the same season.

No, they weren't.
You must not have been alive then. Auburn won the National Championship for the 2004 season

I'm not sure but they had a lot of all Americans on that team.

All-Americans are basically beauty pageant winners. They also had a boat load of NFL bust on that team.

I was alive and watched USC win the National Championship. Auburn, being the piece of shite little bro program that they are, was left to watch on the couch. It was hilarious

Nonetheless, USC would've beaten that Auburn team by 3 TD's. Just like they did the year before.

Well, let’s look at 2012 and 2013 Auburn.

2012 Auburn got clobbered by Georgia, TAMU, Alabama, LSU and everyone else.

2013 Auburn...didn’t. They lost to LSU, but beat the rest.

2004 Auburn was a much better team than 2003 Auburn. Clearly.

Didn't Auburn get destroyed at Jordan-Hare by a young USC team with Matt Leinart making his first career start the year before?

auburn had Nallsminger 03 offense plus their best OL was injured that year. 03 was very close. The funny thing is Matt Leinart wore a "F^^^ the BCS" shirt on the eve of that 04 season in an ABC interview and did a complete 180 once that system worked in USC's favor.

I see no dispute the fact that OU had a terrible secondary that year. Big 12 was sorry stuff that season, with Tennessee obliterating the same team that took OU down the wire in the Cotton Bowl.

Just like Bama smoked Auburn in 2013 after destroying them by how many TDs in 2012?

The NFL careers do lie. Just because Jason Campbell languished in the league for one or two seasons longer does not mean he was better than Matt Leinart in the 2004 CFB season.

My mind would be blown away at such stupid reasoning if it didn’t come from a Barner on Wire Road.

2004 CFB season unit advantages

QB - USC
RB- Barn
WR - USC and it’s not close
OL - Barn
DL - USC
LB - USC
DB - Barn
Coach - Carroll beats the brakes off jug ears

No one wanted to see USC beat Auburn for a 3rd consecutive time in 3 years especially after USC had shut them out in Auburn in 2003.
