Dude you ever been to Martins when they're doing whole hog and had them open up the pit? I don't know if they do it anywhere other than the one in Nolensville(the original).

They do it at all of them.

Atlanta is an international culinary city. NOLA makes NOLA food, which is good.
if you think NOLA's food scene consists of nothing but New orleans style food, I can't take your opinion on the matter seriously anymore

Did you ever take his opinion on anything seriously?

NOLA is a world-class city for food.

The Atlanta list is solid. I've eaten at most. Many others could be on the list as well. The restaurant scene in ATL is much improved and more diverse than in years past.

PS. I love the Snack Bar. I always eat in the bar area where you can always meet new people and enjoy watching the bartenders to their magic.

And 6 in Birmingham. Imagine if Birmingham wasn't the cultural wasteland of chain restaurants and fast food that LSU fans on here say it is. Or maybe New Orleans just isn't as good of a food scene as it's billed up to be?

Hot N Hot is one of the best restaurants in the Country. Between Hastings and Stitt, you would be hard to find two better Chefs anywhere.

For Birmingham, I'd put down Frank Stitt's Highlands Bar & Grill and Bottega.
For New Orleans, Mr. B's Bistro was a good one.

Edley's and Martin's are both overrated... Try Peg Leg Porker when you get a chance, probably the best in town.

It's pretty good. I think their Sunday Brunch is really nice.

To whomever said K-Paul's Louisiana Kitchen, that is an excellent choice. This is probably my favorite place in the city.

Personally, I would also rate Commander's Palace above Restaurant August. I have eaten multi-course dinners at both, and while August was good, Commander's was simply better. Obviously, who has the best food is subjective.

Based on what else is on the list, I am somewhat surprised they did not include Drago's considering how famous the restaurant is and how it has one of the most identifiable dishes in the city.

It is really good. I love the ribs and the pulled pork. I am not a big fan of their sauce, but everything else is on point. I was going to eat leftovers today but this thread has changed my mind. I am torn between Peg Leg Pokrer and Arnold's.

Yeah, everyone has a bbq opinion. Peg-leg is very good, but I like Martins better for pulled pork. Thats the other thing, BBQ joints totally depend on what you get. Jacks was just mentioned for example. Their brisket kills Martins imo, but Martins pork is tops in my book.

Jacks is okay. I work right down from the Broadway location, so I can walk to it. I go there a decent amount because of convenience. The brisket is good, I like their vartiety of sauces, and the sides are good.

Maybe not in quantity, but I put Rolf and Husk up there with anywhere I've been. Ive paid a HELL of a lot more for inferior food in other cities. That being said, I wouldn't expect Nashville to be "there" yet given its relatively newfound emphasis on the food scene. I'd say give it time though....Nashville is exploding and is showing no signs of stopping.

edit: Ohh, and since the topic is 100 best in the south, I think its perfectly reasonable for Nashville to be so well represented.
