what a pitiful list as well as how they ranked teams. "Honorable Mention" list is just as bad.

2015 Ole Miss won @Bama, @Auburn, vs LSU aTm and MSU but didnt win the west

AU 2013 above LSU 2011 is a joke. 2013 AU lost to LSU 2013. The 2011 team was far better.

2001 UF not being on that list is criminal.
That was Spurriers Best UF team.
Just ran into a clusterfrick of unlucky circumstances at Auburn and then FSUs Darnell Docket knocking Earnest Graham out for the postponed 9/11 game against Tennessee.

What a terrible list. No Auburn 1983?
Edit: And I wouldn’t put 2013 Auburn near this list.

I'd swap 2013 AU with 1993 AU (that team was magical, but took advantage of a very down year in the SEC, with only two of their 8 conference opponents finishing above .500).
And I'd replace 1993 AU and 2007 Mizzou (who was a good team but not actually in the SEC at the time) with UGa 2002 and 2012.

1966 Alabama team (Bryant called it his BEST team ever). They went undefeated, but Mich. St. and Notre Dame played to a 10-10 tie that season, and Notre Dame was voted #1...go figure.

I can see both sides of this argument.

I agree that was an excellent team that beat the crap out of the game eventual SEC Champ at their place. Only big knock is that. No championships of any kind. Again damm good team.

Interesting topic. 2004 AU belongs there way more than 2013. It is criminal that team is not a National Champion with what they did. Undefeated in a year the SEC was good. It’s absurd. It’s laughable to not have them on this list.
2013 was VERY lucky. Still good. Not as good as most teams on that list, and several others.

I know people will say I'm being a homer here (and maybe I am);
2011 LSU should be no lower than #3. Before the championship game (rematch against a team they'd already beat once), people were talking about that being an alltime great team.
I'll grant Auburn 2004, as they went undefeated that year. Potential Alabama team losing to Clemson one of those seasons.

LSU fans are all alike, the barely won in Tuscaloosa and got their asses stomped in New Orleans, and yet they will proclaim to whoever is listening that they were the best team. They crossed the 50 one time and lost yardage back to their 40, what a bunch of schmucks and crybabies

Mizzou 13 over 07 any day of the week.

Bitch please. They lost to a squad that was barely bowl eligible. It was abundantly clear who the best team in the country was that year. #6 is a little harsh, but ‘04 auburn and ‘16 Bama would’ve beat ‘11 LSU like a rented mule

The 2001 UT team should be on there with them. That team thought the season was over after beating Florida in the postponed 9/11 game and completely overlooked the SECCG. Both teams could've taken Miami and won the national title and both fricked up at the wrong moment.
Oddly enough, that game is the only time I recall Chavis running something different against UF. I'm a Chavis fan in that I think he was a lot better at UT than he's given credit for but against UF he always had a case of the dumbs. However, that particular 9/11 game is the only one that felt like he game-planned specifically for UF. It's a major fricking waste that the team thought the season was over after that game.
