Go back a couple of weeks and look at the comments. If we don't know how to use safeties to help whupped corners, you end up with an 88% completion rate. Many of which were long balls. That group of receivers makes him look pretty good too.

You guys have one QB. This team can win if the D comes to play every game. If JM focuses on taking care of the ball you have a coin flip to win the West.

I'm cautiously optimistic with Mertz as a game manager so far.

I am shocked to discover that it seems Brady Cook is not the worst QB in this league.

You really shouldn't be shocked. He's been a solid middle of the pack starter for some time now. Starting with the SCar game last year (9 games), he's thrown for over 2000 yards, with 13 TDs and 0 INTs (66% completion pct, 148.3 passing efficiency), and has run for 437 yards and another 7 TDs.

And Saturday showed that he's still improving.

I wouldn't trade Weigman for any other QB in the conference.

When he’s good, he’s darn good. When he’s bad, he’s catastrophically bad.

Ouch. I hate it for Will too and hate to see him go out this way. Seems like a good guy and seemed like a solid QB, but I have never seen a QBR like this and that's saying something. Sucks for tGrind. Hang in there and hope someone figures something out with a quickness.

I couldn’t believe y’all didn’t bracket Nabers coming out of halftime.

Another ouch. Against USF. The SEC is wide open. College football is wide open. BC beat themselves in their loss to Free shoes with 18 penalties for 135 or so yards, a missed XP and failed 2-point conversion. Crazy stuff. CSU was the same against the Buffs - hold my beer.

Very, very pleased with our QB room. Conner is one of the best in the league, Max is a very strong back up, and the freshmen we have redshirting - Marcel Reed - is making noise amongst insiders from practice exploits. I’ve been around enough to take that with a grain of salt, but it’s better than silence.

Is that what Texas A&M all about? Just do all the talk about how good they are but only a few times they actually get the good results on the field.

Well we have 5 QBs on the roster, and we might end up seeing all 5 before the season is done, and that's not hyperbole

UGA has 2 QBs. They're both named Beck and have the same number, but one guys plays only first halves and the other gets in after halftime.

That second half guy plays like an All-American, and we're just frustrated Kirby refuses to play him in the first.

LOL...it certainly seems to be the case.

Our first half rushing has been abysmal. It is the Smart way and it works in that it wears defenses out and those 2 and 3 yard rushes turn into 6 and 8 yard runs midway through the third quarter but it sure does make for some quick possessions. We had one possession in the first quarter against SC. That is going to have get better...

Labeling Mertz as a game manager feels unfair to him, but he's been a great manager of the offense. Knows how to get to the right play, has an ability to check down at the right moment, has demonstrated an ability to make great plays on 3rd down, and has a strong arm.

His knock at Wisconsin was making dangerous, unnecessary throws that would end up being turnovers, but his only turnover this year was on a pass that was dropped by Ricky Pearsall.

Leary has been very "meh". He's more mobile than expected, his arm is better than expected, but his accuracy is just not there. I have no idea why. His WRs have not helped, he hasn't went to the TEs enough, and his reads and audibles into downfield plays when easier throws are open have certainly not helped.

Conner Weigman is probably the best pure QB we've had at A&M in 30 years.

He is physically gifted and he is smart. unfotunately he has a suspect OL. RBs are B+ to A quality, and WRs are A+.
