Desperation first rounders; I can bite on that.

He came around. But he's under a microscope no matter where he goes. He just picked a school that has massive expectations and major media attention so it's hard to feel too bad for him.

Okay Arch, you're going to get a whole lot more leash at a place like Ole Miss than you are at Texas. Not suggesting he was ever going to go here but I'm just using us to make a point.

I know we like to laugh about that but a lot of judges will put aside their allegiances so don't be surprised with anything in the court system. I think what we can rest easier on is that Trinidad's case was pretty clear cut and the defense (NCAA) had no medical evidence contradicting TC's side. The NCAA relied solely on supposition. That doesn't fly in courtrooms.

Also, the Supreme Court is not going to allow the NCAA to relitigate the issue or present new evidence. They will need to show some kind of clear error at the trial court level so their chance of winning has gone down.

Yes, the fact that they appealed is simply a PR stunt.

Agreed

Disagree.

I think they want to build a book of lost lawsuits so they can go to Congress and basically say "see, we need anti-trust protection"

It was a preliminary injunction hearing for a TRO request. In the hearing, TC needed expert testimony to establish the likelihood of success on the merits to the court. Not all jurisdictions allow experts to testify on the stand during a preliminary injunction hearing. Some jurisdictions only allow expert testimony in the form of declarations for a preliminary injunction hearing for a TRO. By the time the case actually makes it to court, the NCAA will have it’s own medical experts review the medical records and submit their opinion to the court.

NCAA had no leg to stand on for an appeal. But, they are gonna find something to come after Ole Miss with a vengeance now.

100%

I truly believe this was them trying to “punish” us for the tampering stuff with Clemson. They know they can’t do anything to us or the kid so they were trying to pull this out of their asses. So I suspect they may try and punish us again for the tampering.

But if we take them to court over it, they will lose even more power because it will be ruled they are preventing a player from making the most money he can for his services.

And if that happens, it truly will be game over for them. So in the end, i think they will just leave it be.

Once again, you are ignoring that all that’s happened in the case is that he got a TRO and can play. The case is still ongoing. You really think the NCAA is going to settle? I don’t. What’s going to happen if he loses the case at trial?
