Because your not allowed to apply for a medical waiver until you have exhausted your eligibility

Where are you getting that information? Nothing I can find through any source, including the NCAA, states that. In fact, quite the opposite. Everything I can find states the application for a medical redshirt has to be submitted after the season in question.

The only question that needs to be answered is whether he meets the requirements set out in the rules.

The NCAA requires contemporaneous medical documentation for the injury or illness with a licensed physician certifying the illness or injury is season ending. He provided medical records from December 2022 stating he was “doing very well” since his August 2022 visit. DII medical waivers are decided at the conference level. If he truly needed a medical waiver for the 2022 season, why not try to get it in 2022 through the conference office?

The NCAA is fighting back hard in court using his own medical documentation against him. The tonsillectomy did not occur until late 2024.
At least they took the points there. Thankful for Carneiro’s legs.
Why do I feel like the answer to #2 is LSU? Which makes LSU fans talking about the “portal king” even more ironic.

medically redshirted that season because of an injury

The “injury” was respiratory problems due to chronic tonsillitis. The NCAA wants more medical documentation to support the claims needing his tonsils removed kept him from starting.

why not give HC to Charlie

Pete has half a decade more experience than Charlie. It took a lot of people in this forum a few days to come around to the idea of Pete being an acceptable hire. They felt OM could have made a more glamorous splash hire. Fans felt that way despite Pete being from the Saban coaching tree.

The fanbase wouldn’t come around a Charlie hire as quickly. Charlie has only called plays under 2 coaches: Jeff Scott and LK. The 2 years he called plays under Jeff Scott, the offenses were the 3rd worst in the American.

They would in the long run make more money

No, they wouldn’t. Think about it. While ticket sales bring in some revenue, most of it comes from television rights. That’s the heart of conference realignment. They split off, they lose viewership. Look up FCS bowl viewership numbers compared to CFP viewership numbers. CFP gets double the eyeballs.

Not if they drew up plans for them to have their own playoff

G5 programs are FBS programs. The playoffs for FBS programs are their playoffs too. That’s why they get a spot. The G5 programs aren’t going to agree to a separate championship with lower compensation. They like the $$$ that comes from a CFP appearance.

I’ll wait and see how many Ole Miss players transfer to LSU

Not as many as LSU seems to think. Go back and watch post-game footage from the season. You can always tell LK’s guys because those are ones he gravitates to in post-game press shots.

Wild that LK was making them wear all the same shoes for uniforms

That only makes sense when it’s a NIL opportunity for the whole team.

Time to reconsider their inclusion over better teams.

The announcers discussed this during the end of the OM/Tulane game. G5 teams are let in to avoid anti-trust lawsuits against the P4 conferences.

Schools know they can’t match the Nike deal Lanning has while at Oregon. That is just as much a deterrent as his buyout. That deal is rumored to be worth twice his buyout.

require a serious contract buy/out clause

Realistically, what would that do? The schools LK was courting have demonstrated time and time again they will pay a coaches fee to buy them out of a contract as an “investment in success” without batting an eye.

My impression from the Cross interview is that fans won’t see much traction on that front until after Sunday’s final CFP announcement at the earliest.

It’s only like 20 minutes.

That’s a pretty succinct description. Kind of goes into a little bit into the decision to name Golding coach versus interim as well.

Hints that Egg Bowl win was more due to efforts of the coordinators and players than Kiffin.

Tries to reassure the fans that are upset over his handle business then tell the Ole Miss side approach that his primary focus since Saturday night has been doing whatever he could to ensure the CFP run happened for the players.

Oh and tells Cross that Golding’s introduction press conference that was canceled today will happen Sunday after final CFP brackets are announced.

Did you listen to the Keith Carter interview with Richard Cross?

If that’s true then I can’t believe that didn’t leak last week

With the media on Kiffin watch, you really think Sexton wouldn’t or couldn’t bury a leak like that?
Did anyone catch this Eli segment last night? He was hinting about Kiffin being MIA Egg Bowl week. LINK
