Just checking in to say you rebels are so lucky to have Chris beard. His turnaround is beyond commendable besides the fact his credentials before ole miss were something I’d kill 8 homeless dudes for LSU to have

Well deserved. Glad we are seemingly going to hold on to him. He historically has had some huge jumps in year 2

We lose a lot. Let’s hope his portal pick ups are better than this year. Lots of whiffs.

Basically turning over the entire team

Plenty of playing time up for grabs and a lot of bench minutes also

Beard should decline the NIT invite if we even get one and step to it in the portal

I’m assuming we actually turned the NIT down? Hard to believe we didn’t actually get in otherwise

honestly I'm not sure how I feel about declining the invite. Extra practices and more game experience is rarely a bad thing.

These guys have been practicing for months and a game against Sienna or UT Chatt with mostly guys who aren’t gonna be on the team next year ain’t gonna improve things.

Right. And most will either graduate/transfer/or be processed . So what difference does another game or two together mean.

Nothing. It’s not like we would bring back the bulk of a team who made it to the NIT finals or something.

It’s pointless for this team the way it’s constructed to do the NIT

Did we just transfer in a bunch of seniors or what? I know we brought a ton of transfers in last season so it's a little alarming that the majority of the team won't be here after only one season.

I could honestly see us having as many as 10 new players on the team next season. There were 16 on the roster this season. I assume Murray, Nunez, Caldwell, and Brakefield who has a COVID year and who has said he plans to use it will be back. Cisse' also has a COVID year but something tells me he's still up in the air for other reasons. Murrell said he's not coming back eventhough he also could due to COVID. That leaves all the others at the bottom of the roster who almost did nothing this year. We were not very deep at all. That's not to say those kids can't become real contributors somewhere down the line, but with the way the game has changed with the portal the level of patience just isn't there for a kid to take 2-3 years to develop. Long story short, it's gonna be interesting.

We will probably have at least three or four new starters on next years team. We’ve been in contact with pretty much every top portal player right now. I would expect less than 5 scholarship players to return next year.

That was a bit of a no show. But Notre Dame was perfect for three quarters with a little help from their friends.

Got some trying to sling around the idea of Beard to Arkansas if Musselman were to bolt. Thoughts?

There's a lot better jobs out there than Arkansas, I kind of think he'll wait for something better. But if he leaves bring on Will Wade
