Time for Durkin to stay.

I was impressed. Not only are we improving as the season progresses but our defensive adjustments, in game today, won the game for us. Our defensive staff outcoached the hell out of the LSU offensive staff.

This thread did not age well. I didn’t figure it would. The Rebel D has come a long way in a short amount of time on very limited talent.

Okay I’m probably going to sound like a complete nerd here, but what about the “bad influence” factor Orgeron could have on Kiffin.

Orgeron seems to be chasing pussy and partying. And Coach O is Lane’s buddy. I’d be worried O would pull Kiffin down with him back into less desirable habits.

Kiffin seems like he has his shite together. Dropped 30 lbs, talks about doing yoga - the dude looks like he’s in great shape and is taking care of himself.

Do we ever have a good coaching staff?

This is how you run someone out of Oxford sending Kiffin to LSU. He doesn't want to be fricked with and total control not what donors/booster want him to do which is forcing Kiffin to fire someone.

Ok, I'm the guy who started this thread. Some say it "didn't age well." Fair enough. I'm not one of those guys who always has to be right, and I pride myself on admitting when I'm wrong. I'm not a big contributor here. My goal is to ask people to think, which always results in ME thinking. I've been SUPER impressed with the Rebel D over the past two weeks. I hope that play continues even if my thread title makes me look like an idiot. Doesn't matter to me in the least. I'll simply say: Two games does not a season make. That's NOT to predict or wish bad things. I want GOOD things for OM. I was born and raised in Oxford. I was a Rebel fan when I entered the world. I'm not at all convinced the best defensive coaches are in place, but I won't for a minute suggest the OM defense isn't ON FIRE right now. And it makes me very, very happy.

Springer seems to have made all the difference.

Once he came back it opened up some additional blitzes and he plays very well close to the line.

It was a good topic when you started it. That's about all you can do with any of these threads. Things change and hopefully our defense has changed (improved) recently because if our offense continues to take on injuries we are going to need them even more.

I can't disagree with that. The best thing you can do is to not care what other people think and I guess this apply's to your post;

Durkin is so bad that I’m not sure how he can be back next year. This defense can’t stop the run and has guys running wide open downfield.
