thank god that's true. What a big (no pun intended) get for us

Why do you trash talk a former player? He’s with the Jets. He’s not slow and was a great player for us. I would have left too. Why risk getting hurt when you can make money. Sounds like you’re the idiot. Your name definitely fits.

You trash talk him because his head is so huge he probably needs it. Going undrafted after opting out was hopefully a humbling experience, as it definitely wasn't the right move for him to do for himself, or the team at the time. He thought himself too good to potentially "waste" his future money on those last games, and ended up wasting his money anyways.

Yeboah was a good player for us in the limited time we had him but he seemed to tail off toward the end and then to opt out on top of that seemed like a really bad idea at the time. Much less once the draft took place. I even said so at the time on this board. I welcome any good player to our fold and I’m not trashing him, but he must have gotten bad advice is all I can say. I hope it both works out for him in the long run and others faced with the same option don’t make the same mistake.

He’s like 5th or 6th on their depth chart he probably won’t make the team.

Yeboah was pretty slow and most of his big plays was the play calling and getting him on slow LBs. When teams started game planning on him his production drastically fell off. The problem is we don’t have any TEs the coaching staff sounds like they’re sound on.

Craig, calm down buddy. Kenny Yeboah isn't gonna read this board and appreciate you standing up for him. Honestly I think you could put the starting tight end for Oxford's JV team out there and he would produce because Lane's offense is insane.
Anywho, I think it will be mostly Demarcus Thomas and Rogers at first and maybe we will see Wolfe mixed in. We're in good shape talent wise, someone will just have to step up.
Anyone else see Arch on Matt's instagram story the other day? said arch will be in Oxford on the 26th

Yep been seeing that. Hope it’s a good sign. Still so far off though.

Jerrion Ealy at kick return and punt return but since he starts it's probably best to find someone else.

I was kinda worried about receiver with the loss of Elijah but damn this is pretty stacked. Throw in JJ Henry and Braylon Brown (highest rated recruit outside Tywone Malone) and Hudson Wolfe/ Casey Kelly. And Ealy out of the backfield.

I just want to chime in and say while we've been one of the better kickoff return teams in the conference lately, mostly because we get plenty of chances to return them, our punt returners have been abysmal for a long time. We haven't had a punt return TD since 2013. Furthermore, we rarely have punt returns of 10+ yards.
This is a part of the game where a playmaker like Ealy, Tylan Knight, or JRP can have a huge impact by flipping the field or letting us start a drive on our 35 rather than 15, which in turn allows us to pin an opponent deep. Punt return TDs are not necessary, but they are a bonus.
Total punt returns/punt returns for more than 10 yards/long punt return
2020 - 7/3/18
2019 - 15/3/55
2018 - 11/2/15
2017 - 7/2/19
2016 - 10/2/23

Tylan Knight and JRP should return kicks.

Opting out is not why he didn't get drafted. He had multiple surgeries this offseason.

Ealy getting hurt returning kicks would be akin to Nkemdiche getting concussed running the ball against Memphis and Sanogo getting hurt covering a kick against that very same team.

Jaylon Jones is a very viable option at KR as well. I think Pearson has the ability to be a decent PR and KR. he's got that small, stocky build and is shifty as hell

Don't forget Dexter McCluster getting hurt returning punts. All the while Nutt was scratching his head trying to figure out how to get him the ball more as a receiver.
Eventually someone said: Why don't we just hand it off to him? And SEC records fell. It only took three years.

I dunno man our running backs are deep deep if they think Ealy is the best kick returner let him do it.
