Think this is gonna be relatively easy to predict since we have so many players coming back. The only thing that makes it hard is that I'm not sure what our base defense will be this year. pretty sure it will be a 3/4

All in all I think the only way to approach this season, as with any Ole Miss football team that receives preseason hype, is with cautious optimism. There are so many questions on both sides of the ball but so far it seems recruiting/transfers will provide good answers.

Defensively: We absolutely have no linebacker depth. We will play every down with springer/knight/reese rolled down playing that rover position. Hopefully if Clowney or Mack don't work out at EDGE we can bump them up to play linebacker. Please God don't let SloMomo be the starting linebacker.

I think Jake Springer is going to be a fricking animal and finally bring some old memories of tony conner back.

the #1 thing that hurt us last year was our dlines inability to get a pass rush/plug holes. that will be greatly improved this year.

Offensively: Is this Utah transfer even official? I saw it on Twitter but he isn't on the website. Also theres only two or three tweets that say he is coming. I think the OL will be good regardless.

We don't have any standout TE's but we should be decent and have some depth there. WR will work itself out and the backfield is fine.

At the end of the day all I can say is thank 8 lb 6 oz baby jesus we don't have ryder anderson starting on the d line and God Bless Lane Kiffin.

also chance campbell looks like a serial killer and I fricking love it.

Boys we might have a decent defense. I thought it wasn’t possible to turn the defense around this quick but I think they’ve done it.

Maybe it is just me but I think we need to see some live game action before we proclaim this.

Adding iton, Campbell, prince, springer and having ottis for a full year is going to show up big time. There are others too like demon and Tywone that will seriously help. If you don’t think our defense is going to be a lot better this year you need to let go of the WAOM mentality.

I think Leonard starts oppo Smith at CB. I also think Finley will play FS and split time with JJ

Probably right but I wouldn’t be shocked if prince starts by the end of the year.

Oh, and Hudson Wolfe will factor in at TE this year. Not sure how much Kelly or Knox play.

I absolutely want him to play but I'm not sure he's physically ready. think he needs to get a little more mass on him. He's listed on the site as 225 which as we know is always a little inflated. Regardless, I'm sure he will get his shot and I'm hoping he can really play because as evidenced by last year, having a TE in this offense makes us virtually unstoppable. Especially when they can block and catch well.

another thing that is astounding to me is our depth at DB. not sure we have ever been this deep. We have so many guys that are going to make an impact, there's just no way to predict the right combo that will see the most playing time this year. Tylan Knight is gonna be a sleeper defensive MVP, major mike hilton vibes from him

Could definitely see that happening. Or it could wind up being Leonard and Prince or Leonard and Hawkins. At this point it's all speculation but either way I'm super pumped about our secondary. Will probably be the best we've seen since 2014-15.

I think hawkins is the most physically gifted out of all of them and he passes the eye test the best. I've heard brown is the most technically sound but needs a little more physical development. Prince was pretty solid in 2019, and Battle showed flashes last year. Hell battles could end up being the best one, he started playing DB halfway through the year last year and was more than serviceable

Something I just thought about. Anybody else find it hilarious that Kenny Yeboah opted out the last two games just to go undrafted? What dumbass was in his ear saying he'd get picked? Kenny is also a dumbass for believing that other dumbass. He's slower than a bag of rocks and could have really benefitted from playing against LSU and Indiana

It’s kinda funny. I don’t know how he thought he was getting drafted sitting out those last games. He had decent numbers but I mean below average (for an nfl TE) at temple.

The TE class last year was deep.
