Some back ground on the events going on at Texas 7&5 from Rivals

quote:

Not an Ole Miss-specific note, but Texas A&M defensive line coach Elijah Robinson is headed to Syracuse as defensive coordinator. Elko offered Robinson a huge contract but not the DC job, and he left for the title and to coach with his friend. The A&M staff has asked for an increase in NIL money to try to stop the defensive roster from hopping in the portal because of how much the players like E-Rob. Elko made a comment about not hiring friends or letting emotion into it, and he's, according to reports, taking his time with the hire. I know A&M has money over money, but it's all connected and it seems like teams will try to have open season on A&M players starting tomorrow. At minimum, it could impact how much money they have to spend on incoming guys and drive prices up on current player retention. This is reading tea leaves a bit, but there seems to be some concern with notable names earnestly pursuing other spots. Multiple A&M sites think it could have a tangible impact on their roster in different ways.

Sooo like every year for the Aggies

1)Bring in elite recruiting class
2) underachieve
3) mass exodus of elite players to other teams

Rinse and repeat

its like we are exclusively buying from a used car lot... letting someone else eat the initial "drive it off the lot" cost and we get more value

nice... Lane you slick dawg you

He'd be a true anchor for our D-Line.

Anyone else we are expected to be in on already?

I like to think we really helped keep FSU out by beating LSU and hurting their strength of schedule. And they will get beat bad by UGA makes it even better.

We should set up a recruiting consulate in College Station.

Prieskorn is 75% on coming back. Tre Harris didn’t like his draft grade so I imagine he’s leaning forwards returning as well. Watkins should be back as well. That’s what the staff is expecting. DWade leaving sucks, but I imagine it was a pretty easy decision with Deion Smith expected to be here soon. Love DWade, but he isn’t Deion, as crazy as that sounds. I expect the offense to look pretty similar next year. They’re going to be doing a lot of work diving into the portal for the secondary. It will look very different next year. Probably going to have to grab a couple of LB’ers too and get some D-Line depth pieces. Pegues and Zxavian Harris being back is big for us though

Granted, this is all that some retarded draft agent doesn’t get in the ears of these guys and blow everything up. NIL does take away some of their leverage, but there’s nothing a football coach hates more than agents

Hopefully the grades can hold up. He’s a hell of a player. What will be his year, a jr?

That’s mighty decent of him to do that, but I wouldn’t be mad at him if he didn’t.

Kind of feel bad for State. Bring Lebby in and feel so confident they’re going to get Gabriel.

If they don’t get him it’s going to be rough.
