It's not about going 8-4. It's about an a-hole acting bigger than the program. He's burnt through all the good will and equity with the fanbase. 8-4 while playing footsie with a division rival just doesn't work. And what pisses me off is we confirmed it for him and gave him exactly what he wanted.

frick him and Ole Miss football. State earned the win and congrats to them. I won't support a Lane Kiffin coached team.

His goodwill and fan equity really hasn’t been earned anyway

Sure he’s fun and sassy on twitter but he isn’t winning big games like an $8 million per year coach should be

But yes I do agree, he’s burned a lot of bridges with OM fans over the last few weeks and doesn’t seem to care that he’s nuked this season with his unnecessary hijinks

Maybe we don't finish any better regardless, but "nuked the season with unnecessary hijinks" sums it up perfectly.

I can get over how he handled things. People need to back off the ledge. He is staying. Support him and the team. Don't burn the bed you sleep in.

Maybe lane should take your advice as well.
How do you treat a fan base like this and clearly have it impact the games you coach and expect them to continue to be in full support of you?

I agree, most of us can get over how the last two weeks were handled, but it may take a little while. It can start with getting to work and winning a bowl game. Yeah, it might feel like a meaningless bowl game, but you can bet your arse the only thing worse than a meaningless bowl game is not making a bowl game at all.

Right

Where are those 50 other scholarship players that aren’t playing or contributing at all? They’re chilling on easy street not playing and getting NIL money and a free ride

The ones who stay and don’t enter the portal let’s work their arses off for bowl practices and make it tryouts to stay or be asked to leave . They need to do something or GTFO . Like Why are you here ?

I would rather be 0-12 instead of 8-4. At least with 0-12 that means I gave up in week 1. Instead I’m disappointed about losing to a dogshit msu team. They aren’t good.

Would be nuts if he derailed our season to only take the Auburn job.

^^* Well half of that equation is firmly in place this morning after that showing the last two weeks.

If Kiffin stays, it'll take a while to win back over some portions of the fan base after the last couple weeks.

Average at best coach. Larger than average ego. Only interested in celebrity and Twitter. I’ll pass.

Winning the fans back will require starting with one hell of a recruiting/portal class.

He needs to worry about winning the team back as well. They have looked flat and uninspired the last few weeks and it’s all on him

I hope everyone calms down over the weekend. We are lucky to have Kiffin. Him leaving for Auburn would be a disaster and would set the football program back years. Our administration has hired the likes of Ed Orgeron, Houston Nutt, and Matt Luke. You really want to try to find another coach with so many vacancies open? If the fans really want to win, they need to support the program by putting butts in the seats and contributing to NIL because those are the two things that will cause us to lose a coach. I doubt Kiffin even considers Auburn if attendance and NIL support were top notch. That's on us.

I mean this is the nicest way possible: you're what's wrong with our program. Dude lost two easily winnable games because he was more concerned with his contract, which only benefits him, as opposed to working for the betterment of the kids he coaches. And from the looks of things, actively lied to them in the process. Don't be an apologist for a narcissistic a-hole because he won 10 games in a historically down era of SEC West football.

frick Lane Kiffin. Hope he's gone to Auburn so he can finally figure out that his shite does, in fact, stink.
