It doesn't matter even if we win out there will be a bunch of other 10-2 teams. They will leave us out because we will have the worst loss which is Kentucky.

We will find a way to lose 1 of Arkansas, Florida, or Georgia.

I guess its fun to speculate so ill play. Assuming we win out (and we wont!!!) I think we are in and heres why. Our two losses have been by three points. This matters to the committee supposedly. Kentucky is a dreadful loss but we will redeem ourselves with a victory over a possible #1 UGA team.

If we win out and beat what will probably be the #1 team in the country, there is no doubt we'll make the playoff.

Yeah sure, I mean this offense has been super fun to watch. I am currently thinking how I will spend my $150 a month I have been donating to the shitastic offense. If Florida does come for Kiffin I am at the point I could care less if he leaves.

Honestly, if we had beat Kentucky but lost to LSU and eventually Georgia I don’t think we make the playoffs. But if we beat Georgia I think we do.

Kiffin losing to Kentucky is up there with Freeze losing to Arkansas 4th & 25 and Memphis.

Coaching is the reason why we are sitting here with 2 losses and on the outside looking in hoping to catch a break instead of undefeated and in the drivers seat, not only in conference, but nationally.

This is far shittier than any big upsets from previous years.

And yet somehow people are still so optimistic that we’ve made a top 3 Georgia game not only a must win but a lock win to cement us into the playoff. Some Jim jones level koolaid drinking

Their #11 Walker.. we may need to have homeland security order a terrorism warning for what he’s gonna do to Micah Pettus.

Even if we beat UGA, we need other teams to fall.

A&M and LSU are undefeated in conference play.
UGA, Tennessee, Mizzou, Texas, and Vandy all have just 1 conference loss.

Even if we run the table, we could still be 7th in the SEC standings. The good thing for us is our high (for a 2 loss team) ranking.

Tennessee, Mizzou, Texas, and Vandy will all finish with 2+ conference losses. C'mon.

Texas has

@ Vandy
Florida
@ Akransas
Kentucky
@Texas A&M

They probably have 1 loss but could also run that table.

For anyone still holding out false hope, In the afternoon games I think we want:

Oregon over Illinois (just wholly knock out Illinois and Oregon is basically a lock for playoffs either way)

UCF over BYU

Vandy over Texas

Loser of Bama v. Mizzou should be eliminated so not sure it really matters for us

People are still doing this ??

Whew that’s an impressive level of optimism given what we’ve seen all season in conference play

I guess I still have this false hope, but with how we looked today, I have no reason to believe we can beat Georgia or even Arkansas for that matter.

*Disclaimer - we likely aren't beating Georgia*

Here's what needs to happen the rest of the way.

1. We must win out. No explanation needed.
2. LSU needs to beat Alabama. This makes our three-point road loss more impressive and leaves no room to say Alabama should get in over us due to them having three losses.
3. Texas A&M needs to win out and throttle Texas. This likely gives Texas a final record of 10-2 with no signature wins (Michigan doesn't count) and two blowout losses.

These three conditions leave Ole Miss at 10-2 with a signature win over Georgia and a 4th-place finish in the SEC. We absolutely get in under these circumstances.

Alternate scenario:

1. We win out.
2. LSU loses to Alabama and to one of @Florida, Vanderbilt, and Oklahoma. This is less likely than the second caveat above, but still a possibility considering how LSU looked on the road the other day.
3. Tennessee unravels and loses two out of their last five games, with @Georgia and @Vanderbilt being the two most likely possibilities.

These circumstances leave Ole Miss in the same place as the previous set, just with different teams above/below us.

All of this to say, we still have hope, and our paths are still plentiful and not all that complicated. Just gotta take care of our own business and hope the right teams lose.

Yeeeeeep. That’s what our fans don’t realize. 10-2 with a win over Georgia is better than 10-2 with a win over LSU. Or 10-2 with zero good wins.
