It’s wild to think the committee would keep bumping us up a slot or two each week as teams start falling ( byu and Indiana after this weekend) .. and then the last one to tank us where we would fall out completely of the 12
I am gonna have to see that to believe it but if it happens.. we have nobody to blame but ourselves when we lost to freaking Kentucky.

The team better be ready to play at Florida on Saturday, or all of this will be for nothing. I think this game is gonna be very close. Florida is playing with confidence right now and it's gonna be a challenge.

They are rally around their coach and Freshman QB. I would defer the kick off and let them have the ball so our D can cut loose too set the tone. DJ is not mobile and we can pressure him it ought to rattle him. Also I hope we have figured out to get a least a marginally effective rushing attack during the bye week. That ought to give their DL something to think about instead of pinning their ears back to rush Dart.

Recruiting picking up like it has is making me optimistic that Kiffin is planning on being around a little longer.

I want to stay in front of UGA in the playoff poll but at the same time it might fire up the players even more for the next 2 games if they feel the committee thinks that game was just lucky.
Lagway is throwing the ball very well, our defensive line is going to have to make him uncomfortable and Weiss and Kiffin hopefully watched that LSU game and saw that Florida is going to bring pressure so quick outs and hot routes should be a big part of our game plan.

They really don’t need any more fuel after the Kentucky and LSU games. Have to keep clawing out of the hole.

Agreed, plus the rumor of Knox moving from California to Oxford for the next school year makes me think we have him wrapped up at Ole Miss for at least a few more years.

I don’t think that’s a rumor anymore. Kiffin has stated it a few times publicly

Since he turned down the Auburn job, I have felt the same way. If a real legacy program came calling, he would seriously consider it. But there are only a few of those programs and those jobs rarely come open.

We would be idiots to think differently but it would be a very short list. Not only would it have to be a historically top program, but one that doesn't have to be rebuilt, one that he could have unlimited control of, and one that is in warm weather.

Also Kiffin is not everyone’s cup of tea. Some ADs/presidents/boosters don’t want a coach stirring the pot on social media. Especially among the really big programs that don’t need brand building

Anyone going to the game this weekend?
Been a while since ive been to the game. Well went to Peach Bowl last season but before then it was when we hosted Liberty a few years ago.
I grew up a Florida fan and all of my family had season tickets and from newborn to 4th grade i was at every UF home game. My grandparents had a motorhome and we went every weekend.
The Swamp can be a rowdy place. Im glad the game is noon and not any later.
Im dropping my youngest off with my parents and taking my wife and two oldest boys this weekend. Cant wait. Sitting in Section 49.

Kiffin said today that Harris should be back and Diggs may play as well. Also that the offensive line is fully healthy two deep for the first time this year. Wonder how Dart’s ankle be.

Having Diggs play would be huge. In his career, he's average 5.5 ypc - which is better than any RB we have on staff. I'm sure if he does play, he'd be limited and he probably has a good bit of rust. But, having a larger back that can break tackles is what we've missed all year at that position.

Honestly the bigger advantage is to give the committee a reason to discount our early season losses. Players coming back healthy is a good excuse.

Y’all see where MC changed its name to Mississippi Christian University and discontinued the football program?
Posted on 11/18/24 at 6:27 pm to Henry Jones Jr
MC must have been losing money. I suppose that’s the only thing that can explain it because usually football is just good for the atmosphere at a school so you’d think they be reluctant to get rid of it. Maybe they’ve also become a commuter college or maybe always have been. Not sure.
Posted on 11/18/24 at 6:29 pm to Insideradvantage
Yeah that’s the only explanation I can think of. MC is small but you’re going to start seeing bigger and bigger schools say “frick it” and just shut it all down due to NIL. I wouldn’t be surprised if a school like Northwestern, Cal or Stanford does within the decade
