Fkkk that. It would be fun to shite on Aub but that would be the only satisfaction. I dont think he can identify, build, or maintain the staff needed in SEC football today.
Yeah that’s my biggest gripe with him. And it seems like he is slowly trying to build the same staff he had here at Auburn.

If he hires Longo away from Wisconsin I will laugh for days

He literally doesn’t have any other contacts or coaching tree to pull from. It may be also why he shoots himself in the foot over and over again. He doesn’t have a mentor or peer that can talk sense into him or give him an opinion/idea that isn’t his own.

I think it means Senior in High School. They were able to reclassify him so that he could graduate and enroll early.

Na, it’s college. Dude has put in work in the classroom.

opefully he’ll at least speak to the players early on if something like that happens again.

If he's staying he needs to make a public announcement to that effect the day after FL drops the hammer on Napier. If not, it will be the same shite all over again. And Carter would be right to tell him to frick off. Taking us through that would be incredibly disrespectful.

The same Hugh who couldn't stop Brandon F'in Allen. The same Hugh who put up a cool 10 points on Flarda and 24 on Memphis.

Thankfully Hugh isn't a real option for us. I'd walk away if we rehired that idiot.

I think the only “realistic” option that would make me walk away is if we promoted Golding

Yeah that would do it. I love having him as a DC but the dude is so obviously not qualified to run the show. It wouldn’t be Matt Luke bad but it would be damn close. Hopefully his recent DUI would prevent Keith from hiring him

"I'm going to say this that's going to throw some cold water on Florida and probably help Lane, as I said earlier, you can't ignore the obvious," Davis said this week on The College GameDay podcast. "You can't ignore the obvious and pretend they won't go after Lane Kiffin. As we stand here now, Lane Kiffin has a better job right now. He's at best, making a literal move. And it's not because Ole Miss is better than Florida right now. It's because they can get in on players now. They're aligned with their NIL. He makes the decisions. Lane has a better job."

I’m probably wrong but I don’t see Florida as an issue.

Yes, Napier is getting canned.

Does anyone think Florida is going to wait until after December and the early signing period?

The ONLY way Kiffin becomes the coach of Florida is if we’re out of the playoffs. He’s not going to jeopardize a potential natty to become the head coach of Florida. You can talk about his ego, willingness to jump at the next job, whatever but no coach is going to bail on a natty. Hell if you want to talk about ego, what better boost than a natty or playing in the finals? If he thinks he can get it, he’s staying and playing out the season.

Florida is a shite show right now. They really have two small periods (Spurrier and Meyer) where they were great and the rest was mediocre at best.

The landscape has changed with NIL. His family prefers to be here, we will pay whatever he wants if we’re in the playoffs and we’ll continue to funnel money to the football.

Oh I don't think Lane is going to Florida. I just think if Lane leaves for (insert), Pete will be the favorite to get the gig.

You are correct. Florida has an interim president. Its AD has already botched two coaching hires and could be on the hot seat depending on the next president. And the school is being sued for broken NIL promises. This is not an elite job right now.

Gotcha.

Now, I’m not going to delude myself into thinking Lane won’t leave.

But say he does. How many jobs would he leave us for?

We’re going to make it hard for him to leave. He runs the show here and I’d like to think the administration understands we have to be relevant in football with today’s landscape especially if we want part of the inevitable super conference. Football is where the money is. If we pay his arse $15 million a year, we’ll recoup that by being good. Without football our other sports won’t get the funding needed to be decent.

For everything people have given him shite for in the past, some deserved and some not deserved, he seems to have matured and grown into his own in Oxford. Could be smoke but he’s been fairly open about changes he’s made and how his family has thought of Oxford as home.

Keep doing what we’re doing and with NIL there is a path to us moving into a top tier in a more permanent basis.

I think he will leave for the NFL if he continues winning at a high level here.

I would not be surprised if he left for Florida or Michigan.

Michigan

Michigan views themselves as above someone like him. Their wealthy alumni would rather shut down the football program before hiring someone like Lane. Plus, he's not a "Michigan" man

Michigan wouldn’t hire him because he’s not a “Michigan man”. He’s also the complete opposite personality that they want running things.
