It’s not “beneath us.” It’s a college football game. It’s not royalty. They’re one of our most played opponents. You sound scared.

I don't think anyone is happy with it....but there's no use in complaining about it. The guy who scheduled it is currently the AD at TAMU.

Just go....win...and come back.

Who isn’t happy with it?

It’s an away football game.

It’s not ideal but I don’t think it will matter. Their stadium won’t affect our players at all. Personally I like the fact that we have to travel there. I do NOT want our first road game to be in a sold out Bryant Denny

I am... It's the easiest game for me to get to. HJJ was worried about "brand". If the team can execute and we play like we are able then we win convincingly. HS players in N.O. are paying attention to what Tulane is doing. If we beat them soundly then we can start getting good players out of N.O. again (at least the ones that don't have a committable LSU offer).

I think it might be pretty tough down there in that little stadium where there will be a lot of energy despite the crowd size. Packed is packed and they will be on top of the action. I'm actually really looking forward to watching.

There will still be thousands of Ole Miss fans throughout their stadium.
You could buy tickets all over their sections of the stadium a few weeks ago.

I'm happy as hell to be a good team playing another good team in what should be a crazy road environment. Isn't that what college football is all about?

I had this exact same thought this weekend at the game. Just took it all in. As the world around us is filled with terrible stories and daily turmoil, college football is the escape. 4 hour dopamine rush. Love the sport so much

Right

Would rather play at Tulane when they’re good and competitive than host shittey Mercer if given the choice

There’s no difference between 8-4 or 7-5 at that point. Racking up wins vs crappy teams doesn’t mean shite except you get to go to Tampa or nashville for a bowl game

Exactly. Plus this will be a nice early test which will give us some insight on how the rest of the season will go

Remember the Merlinz years in Starkville when their non-conference foes consisted of Jackson St., UAB, MTSU, and Arkansas Pine-Bluff pretty much every year?

We’re growing up baw. I enjoyed watching us play south-damn-eastern last weekend.

The games still matter, but the anticipation, environment, relationships, and old/new memories are why it’s so special.

The culture around the game is what I love best. We have something special here which we need to protect at all costs, lest we end up like Oregon State or Rutgers.
