None of that had to do with all the 3 & out waste ofplays like running up the gut when our center couldn’t get a push on a HS JV DL and wearing the D down in the 2nd half.

We like good field position and a defense not being gassed at the end of the game. Notice how they picked us apart late in the 4th? Lack of pressure and a gassed secondary typically leads to opposing offenses torching a defense….which is what happened.

Dude the D didn’t loose the game.

I agree. If you read again, I never stated that the defense was the reason why we lost. Coaching failures from BOTH sides is why we lost.

Pete has recruited well and really turned things around since we got this defensive line. That said, the defensive backfield was not properly addressed and he did make multiple mistakes by rushing 3 on key situations. He's been a great hire but imagine what Saban would be saying to him now if he was the head coach and lsu kept picking up those first downs on 3rd or 4th and long cause we put no pressure on them.

All of this is true.

As pissed as I am I want lane and Pete here for a long time. Charlie Weiss can go hang out with his dad and discuss who fleeced their employers more. And at the end of that conversation jr needs to give him a big thank you for his name cause that's all he has as a coach

Absolutely agree. This is the first game that I feel confident in saying Pete’s playcalling contributed to the loss. This is FAR from the first time I can say our offensive playcalling contributed to the loss.

On several key plays in the second half, we rushed three, allowing Nussmeier to find an open receiver and convert very long third down conversions.

It wasn’t a perfect game, and there is room to nitpick. But overall, we allowed 20 points in regulation to a good offense and set our own offense up at the +13 for what should’ve been an easy score. That should have been good enough to win this game easily.

How about going for it on fourth and one and not bringing in JJ to run for an easy first down?

2 things can be true: defense played well enough to win AND there were some puzzling defensive play calls especially on 3rd/4th downs.

Moments that stood out to me:

1) the early 4th down where we quick snapped to Parrish instead of subbing Pegues
2) calling timeout before halftime which allowed replay to overturn the fumble
3) snapping the ball with way too much time on the play clock on our last 2 drives in regulation

Plenty of other frustrating plays, but those are squarely on coaching

Just wondering if they have ever even heard of or considered progressions. It’s either a run up the gut or a 40 yard bomb. Where is the jet sweep or a 5 yard dump, option, anything to the outside, hitch, slant, post? Come the freak on….

It’s a gimmicky bush league offense that gets shut down anytime we play a defense with a pulse. Dart doesn’t know how to progress through his reads because he is not taught to do so or required to. It’s either hand the ball off or force a throw to the first read. We cannot move away from this shite fast enough.

Do we even have a middle screen in our playbook? When the D is blitzing, take advantage of it.

That would play to our strengths as the OL just lets the DL blow right past them upfield.. they pretty much do that every play anyway

At least Simmons can chuck it. I’d rather lose 52-49 than 17-14

I wish these announcers would quit calling our offense explosive.

Another embarrassing performance by the offense so far. Weis Jr will be the downfall of Kiffin.
